$2,000 to Win Inaugural Cowboy Jim Kennedy Memorial Set for August 7 at Clinton County

By Ben Deatherage MILL HALL, Pa. (June 24, 2026) — Clinton County Speedway will honor one of Pennsylvania’s most beloved RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car competitors when the inaugural Cowboy Jim Kennedy Memorial is held on Friday, August 7. The special event will be contested on what would have been Kennedy’s 92nd birthday and will celebrate the life and legacy of a racer whose impact on the sport stretched across generations. “We are honored to have the family’s blessing to host the inaugural Cowboy Jim Kennedy Memorial Race,” said Clinton County Speedway promoter Jason McCahan. Kennedy, who passed away on April 2 at the age of 91, began his racing career in 1958 and remained one of the most respected figures in central Pennsylvania motorsports. A longtime RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car competitor, he embodied the working-class spirit that has long defined grassroots racing. “He was an inspiration to many and the definition of a RaceSaver Sprint Car driver — a working guy who was able to compete,” McCahan said. “This is a great tribute to him.” McCahan [Read More]
