Southern Oklahoma sets Stampede special for March 9, 10 

ARDMORE, Okla. – With wet weather moving into the area Saturday, Southern Oklahoma Speedway will host Southern Stampede shows Thursday and Friday, March 11 and 12.      Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying features now see IMCA Modifieds run for $3,000 to win and $300 to start on Thurs­day and $1,000 to win and $100 to start on Friday. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products South­ern SportMods both run for $1,750 to win and $175 to start on Thursday and $750 to win and $75 to start on Fri­day.  With a 70-plus chance of an inch of rain in the forecast, Saturday’s program has been canceled.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing Na­tional and KMJ Performance Oklahoma State points will be awarded in all three divi­sions both nights. (May 25, 2022) – Rain had the final word and resulted in rescheduling opening night of the IMCA All Star Shootout.  The lidlifter for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods moves to Thursday, May 26 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore. The event originally scheduled that evening at Grayson County Speedway has been canceled. The Shootout is at Texas speedplants Boyd Raceway on Friday, May 27; at Kennedale Speedway Park on Saturday, May 28; and at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco on Sunday, May 29.  Modifieds run for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star qualifying eligibility each night. ARDMORE, Okla. (May 24, 2023) – He bided his time and then Mitchell Clement banked $1,000. Clement won Wednesday’s All Star Shootout opening night feature for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds at Southern Oklahoma Speedway, capitalize on race-long leader Troy Morris III’s bobble following a restart with nine laps to go. “I had a really good car,” Clement said after starting ninth and working his way into the top three midway through the 25-lapper at Ardmore. “I knew I just had to be patient.” Morris, from Bakersfield, Calif., and the current Junior National Champion points leader, drew the pole start and kept William Gould and then Josh McGaha at bay before back-to-back yellows on lap 17. He did some of his best driving avoiding any serious contact with a tire that had come off another car and then pinballed along the front stretch while the race was under caution.
