Ward sails to Crystal checkers

CRYSTAL, Mich. (June 3) – Three-time Lane Automotive IMCA Modified track champion A.J. Ward wasted no time moving from his ninth place starting position to take the lead and found clear sailing all the way to the checkered flag Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway.

Chad Wernette did his best to reel in Ward but had to settle for second, followed by Austin Wonch in third.

June 10 at Crystal is the Lane Automotive-Optima Batteries IMCA Modified Challenge with a top prize of $1,052. The winner joins the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.

The night is sponsored by CMS Internet of Crystal. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. Adult admission is $15, kids ages 5-11 are $5 and pit passes are $25.
