DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 4) – Racing Sunday at Dubuque Speedway on Sunday was highlighted by the Ideal Ready Mix Tri-Track Challenge, featuring a 40-lap feature for the Out-Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Models.

When the green waved for an early restart it was Dubuque driver Jeremiah Hurst taking to the high line around the very smooth 3/8-mile clay track. Hurst went on to lead the flag-to-flag for the $2,000 win. Joel Callahan ran second ahead of Dan Shelliam on Sunday night.

The Merfeld Automotive IMCA Modifieds provided the fans with spectacular racing on Sunday night with the winner in doubt right down to the checkered flag. Veteran Dubuque driver Jason Schueller took advantage of a late race restart to emerge from a pack of contenders to take the win by a slim margin over Jed Freiburger. The top five crossed the finish line with slightly over a car length separating the group of talented drivers.

Tyler Soppe scored the win in the GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Northern SportMod division. Soppe took the lead on lap eight and went on to the checkers ahead of Austin Heacock and Troy Bauer.

Phil Holtz scored his second win of the weekend in the Bakey Seamless Gutters IMCA Stock Car class. Holtz took the checkers first on Friday night at the Farley Speedway. Tim Schneider took second on Sunday night.

Sunday, June 11 will be Driver/Fan Appreciation Night at Dubuque Speedway with free grandstand admission. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with racing to follow.
