Sprint Series of Oklahoma opener set for March 25 at Ardmore

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – In just three short weeks, the Sprint Series of Oklahoma will open its 2017 season at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore on Saturday, March 25.

This IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car event will also be race number two for the Sprint Series of Texas.

Defending national and inaugural series champion Andy Shouse will be back to defend his crowns while series runner-up Joe Wood Jr., who fell just 21 points behind Shouse in the final series standings, looks to garner championship honors this season.

Drivers back on the SSO tour will include Shayla Waddell, Cody Whitworth, Gary Owens, Chris Kelly, Mike Scott, Brandon Jennings, Blake Scott, Ty Williams, Jerry Jumper, Jake Martens, Chad Koch and Loyd Clevenger.

A strong cast of rookie of the year contenders looks to jump into competition full-time this season and includes Dillon Laden, Justin Fisk, Josh Toho, Michael Gossman and Stan Constant.

This event will be the second point race for the SST and will be led by current series points leader Tucker Doughty, Austin Mundie, Jesse “Chip” Graham, Robert Vetter, Bryan Bolden, Chance McRary, Blake Baccus and Michael Day.

Pit gates open at 5 p.m. with race time slated for a 7:30 p.m. start.
