Townsend Leads Every Lap for $8,000 KSP Triumph

KENNEDALE, Texas (May 9, 2026) — Christopher Townsend turned in a flawless performance Saturday night at Kennedale Speedway Park, leading every lap of the Photos by Mike and 2nd Opinion Auto Center Texas RaceSaver Sprint Car Nationals feature to collect an $8,000 payday. The Tarkington driver earned the advertised $5,000 winner’s share in the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car main event and added another $3,000 bonus for pacing all 30 circuits. Kennedale’s own Kyle Jones charged from 11th to finish second after also earning the evening’s $500 quick time award. John Carney II of El Paso crossed the line third after winning the $500 pole dash earlier in the program. Marcus Thomas finished fourth, while Justin Zimmerman rounded out the top five. Chad Wilson earned hard charger honors after advancing from 20th to finish 10th. A stout field of 48 IMCA Sprint Cars filled the pit area for the marquee event.

Jenner Perfect in Sunset Modified Main

BANKS, Ore. (May 9, 2026) — Matt Jenner put together a flawless performance in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature at Sunset Speedway Park, leading from start to finish in a clean and competitive main event. The Vancouver, Washington racer never relinquished command and kept challengers at bay throughout the contest to earn his first DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region victory of the season. The best battle on the track came in the fight for second between Craig Cassell and Trevor LaBarge, with Cassell ultimately prevailing. LaBarge settled for third, while Dustin Cady crossed the stripe fourth and Jake Walters completed the top five after spending much of the race battling Kenny Miller, Cady, and his father, Greg Walters. In the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Chase Berkeley made the long tow from Colville, Washington pay off with a dominant feature victory. The lone major incident came about halfway through the race when Jeremy Brookshire slapped the wall hard at full speed. Brookshire was thankfully okay, but the car suffered heavy damage. Berkeley controlled the race from [Read More]

Wilson Breaks Through at Crawford County in Mod Lites of Arkansas Action

By Bryce Vowan VAN BUREN, Ark. (May 9, 2026) — Crawford County Speedway had not always been kind to Blake Wilson, but on Saturday night the Mabelvale driver finally turned frustration into triumph. Wilson survived late-race pressure from defending Crawford County winner Kevin Simkins to score his first Mod Lites of Arkansas victory of the 2026 season during round two of the Stealth Racing IMCA Mod Lite Special Series. “My luck has never been the best there,” Wilson said. “From mechanical failures to on-track incidents, I felt like I kept coming up short.” Wilson’s night began with an impressive charge from the rear of the field to win his heat race, earning the pole position for the feature. Once the green flag dropped, Wilson quickly established himself as the driver to beat, building a sizable advantage during the early stages of the race. However, multiple late cautions erased his lead and brought Simkins directly to his rear bumper for the closing laps. The two drivers briefly raced side-by-side as the pressure mounted, but Wilson remained composed [Read More]
