ALGONA, Iowa (June 23) – One thing is for sure when fans come to Kossuth County Speedway: They know the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will put on an entertaining show.
Thursday night was no exception as Kevin Opheim and Derek Green went door-to-door and back-and-forth before Opheim edged out Green for his first local win of the season.
Green captured hard charger honors while Calvin Lange, Shane Curry and Kellie Schmit completed the top five.
Josh Ruby was another first time winner in Algona, in the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified main event, while Shane Swanson collected his first local Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod trophy of the season.
Cody Nielsen has been dominant in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and captured his third feature win of the summer at Kossuth County, coming from outside row four.
Kaytee DeVries won the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature, earning her second feature victory of the season at Algona.
