WATERVLIET, Mich. – Allstar Performance nears a state championship landmark this season, its seventh as title sponsor of the IMCA awards program.
Six hundred and eighty-six different drivers have won IMCA state crowns since the program was introduced and that number is guaranteed to top 700 when point standings become official in late October.
Each Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified, IMCA Late Model and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car state champion receives a $100 gift card from Allstar Performance.
The Watervliet, Mich., high performance parts manufacturer gives $50 gift cards to each IMCA EMI RaceSaver Sprint Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMod and Mach-1 Sport Compact state champion.
“We are happy to continue our marketing partnership with IMCA. This well-run sanctioning body has a broad group of fantastic racers and teams,” said Advertising and Publications Manager John Berglund. “IMCA is continually evaluating their rules to make racing cost effective and it shows in the amount of racers that compete on a weekly basis. Being able to be a part of the Super Nationals at Boone is also a real bonus that Allstar is able to take advantage of every year.”
Gift cards will be presented during the national awards banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office. Cards can be applied toward purchases from any Allstar distributor. Information about Allstar products, as well as dealer locations, is available at the www.allstarperformance.com website.
IMCA has crowned state champions since 2000. One hundred and two IMCA state champions reigned last year, 11 more than the previous record set in 2014.
State point standings are determined using results from drivers’ first 55 starts at tracks in each state.
“This is a great program that recognizes the accomplishments of drivers from across the nation and the support of Allstar Performance really drives that recognition,” observed IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “It is appropriate that Modified state champs also qualify for the Fast Shafts All Star Invitational, which really ups the ante as well.”
