Top IMCA Modified prize is cool $1,000 at Junction’s Spring Thaw special

McCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. – Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds will race for a cool $1,000 to win at this weekend’s Mike Chapin Memorial Spring Thaw at newly-sanctioned Junction Motor Speedway.

Qualifying for the Modified, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Mach-1 Sport Compacts is Saturday, March 19. Last-chance qualifying and main events for all five divisions fill the Sunday, March 20 card.

The Modified feature is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Allstar Performance State, but no local track points will be awarded.

Pit gates open at 11 a.m. and the grandstand open at 2 p.m. Saturday. Hot laps are at 3 p.m. and racing starts at 4 p.m. On Sunday, gates open at 10 a.m. and the grandstand opens at 1 p.m., hot laps are at 2 p.m. and racing begins at 3 p.m.

Spectator admission both days is $15 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-13 and free for five and under. Pit passes are $25 on Saturday and $30 on Sunday.
