IMCA crate engine competitors chase track title bonuses from Chevrolet Performance

GRAND BLANC, Mich. – IMCA drivers competing with crate engines chase local track championship bonuses from Chevrolet Performance again this season.

Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Scoggin-Dickey Southern SportMod drivers all earn $250 bonuses for each track championship earned exclusively with a crate under the hood.

This is the 11th year for the crate engine bonus program, which originated with GM Performance Parts and the Northern SportMod division.

“We are extremely proud to start our second decade as a partner with IMCA racing and all of its members,” said Bill Martens, special programs manager for Chevrolet Performance. “Our mission to provide racers with an economical, durable racing engine has never changed in that time and we don’t intend to mess with success.”

“The championship bonus program is about rewarding loyal users of our products that have excellent results,” he added. “We want to extend our thanks for their past support and wish everyone a safe and winning campaign in 2016.”

Checks will be presented during the national awards banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office.

“Chevrolet Performance contributed over $33,000 in season-ending cash bonuses to track champions in 2015, the biggest such contribution to champions in IMCA racing,” pointed out Kevin Yoder, director of marketing for IMCA. “This program makes a direct impact on our members’ pocketbooks in multiple ways, and in turn makes the partnership successful for all involved.”

Crate engines provided by Chevrolet Performance and given by Karl Performance and Friesen Chevrolet will also be awarded to eligible champions at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.

Also renewed for 2016 was the Chevrolet Performance banner display program with local tracks sanctioning one or more crate engine class.

More information about either bonus program is available from Yoder at the IMCA home office.
