MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 20) – IMCA Late Models make a long-awaited return to weekly race programs at Marshalltown Speedway for Friday, Aug. 14 and Aug. 21 shows.
Both features pay $600 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded each night; there is no entry fee.
The division last ran weekly at Marshalltown in 1990.
“We’re pretty excited about it. We’ve got a lot of Late Model fans around here,” Promoter Toby Kruse said. “We’ve gotten a lot of interest from drivers so far.”
The Late Models join Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and mod-lites on the card at Marshalltown.
Pit gates open at 5:15 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m., hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and free for kids 10 and under. Pit passes are $22.
