New sponsor Magnus Racing Products gives awards in seven IMCA divisions

DANIELSON, Conn.– The business Mike Sangermano started in a two bay garage on the side of his house just six years ago is a new marketing partner with IMCA.

Magnus Racing Products now remanufactures transmissions and rear ends, and makes drive train components and internal transmission parts in a 4,000 square foot shop. The Danielson, Conn., company will give product awards in three IMCA divisions and product certificates in four other classes this season.

“A lot of IMCA drivers are already our customers but we want to continue expanding in new market areas,” explained Sangermano. “We want to get more into dirt and work with an organization like IMCA that we can grow and expand our market with.”

Drivers in each of the five Modified regions, as well as Late Model and Sprint Car drivers with the most 40-point feature wins, receive sets of quick change gears.

Top three eligible drivers in the two Stock Car regions, both Hobby Stock regions, and in national Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMod standings earn product certificates in increments of $200, $100 and $50.

Drivers in those four divisions must compete with a Saginaw transmission, display two Magnus Racing Products decals on their race car and return a completed sign-up form to the IMCA home office by Aug. 1.

Magnus services tracks in New England out of a 40-foot enclosed trailer that will be on Manufacturers’ Row during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September.

Sangermano previously worked at a transmission shop and owned a super late model team. He sold the race team lock, stock and barrel to open Magnus Racing Products.

Magnus is a dealer for Diversified Machine Inc., another new IMCA sponsor.

“While we expand the IMCA footprint in 2015 through new sanctioned tracks in new areas, we also broaden our marketing reach at the same time,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder noted. “This new partnership with Magnus Racing Products is one that will pay dividends for drivers in each IMCA division and sets the table for increased diversity at our biggest event of the season. We’re excited about working with Mike and Magnus.”
