INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – The annual Independence Motor Speedway awards banquet has been scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8 in the 4-H Building on the Buchanan County Fairgrounds.
The event will recognize the top 10 in points in each of the five weekly IMCA sanctioned divisions.
Track champions to be honored include Curt Martin, who earned a track record 11th title in the IMCA Late Model division; four-time Performance Bodies IMCA Modified track champion Troy Cordes; back-to-back IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock champion Benji Irvine and first-time champions Norman Chesmore in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Alex Zwanziger in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods.
The event will begin with a social hour from 6-7 p.m. S&B Promotions will provide a free keg prior to dinner, which will be served at 7 p.m. and include roast beef, baked ham, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw and an assortment of desserts.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the event are $12 each and may be purchased by sending a check to S&B Promotions, 1776 Buchanan-Delaware Ave., Masonville, Iowa, 50654.
Those purchasing tickets wishing to receive a confirmation of their order must include an email address with their order. Purchased tickets will not be mailed out and will only be available at the door on Nov. 8.
Tickets are only available for purchase in advance and will not be available for purchase at the door. All orders must be postmarked by Friday, Oct. 24.
Door prizes will be given away throughout the evening and a 50/50 raffle will be held.
The speedway office will contact track employees directly regarding banquet ticket information.
