INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – Before the first school bell rings, a night of fun is in store for young race fans at Independence Motor Speedway.
Area businesses have assembled to sponsor Kids’ Night this Saturday, August 16. Along with a number of prizes for the youngsters, a candy dash will be held during intermission.
Superior Cleaning Services, Tarpy Trucking, RE/MAX Independence Realty and Independence Plumbing & Heating, all of Independence, will provide candy for the candy dash.
Superior Cleaning Services is also donating can koozies and Tyler Droste T-shirts for the event. In addition, Performance Bodies of Cedar Falls will provide T-shirt giveaways.
Bicycle giveaways are also planned.
The Aug.16 IMCA weekly racing program includes Late Models, Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods.
Gates open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 6 and racing to follow.
Grandstand admission is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. Kids ages 11 and under will be admitted free if accompanying a paid adult. Pit passes are $25.
The following Saturday, Aug. 23, the season will come to a close with Budweiser Season Championships.
