IMCA Modified stars shine at high-paying Hancock County specials

BRITT, Iowa – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified stars shine at two of the top-paying special events of the season on back-to-back nights at Hancock County Speedway.
The 20th annual Night of 1,000 Stars on Thursday, Aug. 7 pays as much as $9,000 and a minimum of $3,500 to win.

And on Friday, Aug. 8, the second annual Night of 10,000 Stars boasts a potential payout of $10,000 and a guaranteed $7,000 to the winner.

Both Modified features are 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers and will be 50 laps. Fireworks follow each night’s race program.

The Aug. 7 event is also an XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour show and is sponsored by Doug Studer Farms. Lap money totals $2,500 with a $1,000 bonus to the leader at mid­way. The winner earns another $2,000 if they’ve raced at Hancock County Speedway at least four times previous to that evening.

Making the 33-car Modified feature field pays a minimum of $300.

Thirty-six cars take the Modified green for the Iowa Corn Growers District 2-sponsored Night of 10,000 Stars.

On top of a guaranteed $7,000, the winner gets $1,000 bonuses for having won the event previously, having raced at least four times before this season at Britt and for having won a weekly feature at Hancock County in 2014.

That race pays a minimum of $400 to start.

The Modified driver making the longest tow to Britt receives a provisional if they do not qualify on the track each evening. All applicable IMCA points will be awarded each night and both shows are draw/redraw.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $700 to win, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks both for $500 to win on Thursday.
On Friday, the Stocks gun for a top prize of $1,000 while SportMods run for $500 and the Hobbies for $400.

Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing to follow each night.

Adult admission to the grandstand is $18 both nights. Kids ages 6-12 are $5 and five and under are free both nights. Pit passes are $35 and Modified tow money each night is $100.
