Montezuma County hosts July 5 Jim Henry Memorial

CORTEZ, Colo. – The Saturday, July 5 Jim Henry Memorial follows regular weekly racing on Independence Day at Montezuma County Fairgrounds Speedway.

All applicable IMCA points will be awarded both days. On Saturday, IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for $750 to win with 15 or more entries. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are guaranteed $500 to win, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods $300 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks $150 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts $80 to win.

Entry fees for Saturday’s pill draw/redraw show are $25 for the Modifieds, $20 for Stock Cars and $10 for Southern SportMods.

Pit gates at Cortez open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. both days. Hot laps follow the 7 p.m. drivers’ meeting with racing at approximately 8 p.m.

Spectator admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 5-12 and free for ages four and under. Pit passes are $30.
