MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 27) – Mother Nature decided to rain out the races for tonight (Friday) at the Marshalltown Speedway on what was to have been Shawn’s Custom Hay Grinding Night.
Marshalltown Speedway celebrates its golden anniversary next Friday, July 4. There will be a free luncheon from noon-1 p.m. and fans are invited to bring out old photos, memorabilia, and stories to share.
Spectator admission for that evening’s race program will be $5 for adults and children 11 and under get in free on this special occasion. All retired past track champions and their families are invited to attend and receive complimentary grandstand admission.
All start times will be moved up 15 minutes so the first green flag in the heat races will be at 7:15 p.m. A huge fireworks display will follow racing action at approximately 9:45 p.m.

Friday, July 11 will be Casey’s General Stores and Racers Against ALS Night at the Central Iowa Fair. Kids are invited to bring their bikes out and ride the quarter mile at intermission.
