BRITT, Iowa (June 20) – Heath Tulp and Shane Swanson each won their third feature of the season Friday at Hancock County Speedway while Keith Schmitz and Ken Winkowitsch were first-time winners.
Tulp came from the outside of the fifth row in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event. Dan Hanselman had a nice run to take second with Craig Berhow third, Blake Cole fourth and David Wickman fifth.
The scenario in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods was the same as Swanson also came from outside the fifth row. Anthony Condit had his best run of the year to take second with Aaron Benson, Nate Chodur and Nate Hughes completing the top five.
Schmitz returned to the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified winner’s circle at Britt as he started from the pole. Another veteran driver, Mark Noble, was the runner-up and Ryan Ruter was third. Mike Jergens was fourth and Rob Hughes rounded out the top five.
The Nielsen brothers have been running strong in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks this summer at area tracks and that trend continued Friday at Britt.
Cody Nielsen took his second feature of the year and his brother Brandon came home in third place. Austin Hauswirth split the brothers up to take second with Darin Johnson fourth and Chad Gentz fifth.
Ken Winkowitsch came from the back of the field to win the Mach-1 Sport Compact main.
