Davenport Speedway cancels May 2 races

DAVENPORT, Iowa – A week’s worth of rain has forced the Davenport Speedway to cancel the racing program scheduled for tonight Friday, May 2.

Weather permitting, racing will return to the Davenport Speedway next Friday, May 9. On the program along with Milan Heating & Air IMCA Modifieds, Hawkeye Auto IMCA Northern SportMods, Koehler Electric Street Stocks and Roto-Rooter 4-Stocks will be the first-ever appearance of the Lucas Oil MLRA super late models on the 1/4-mile oval.

Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds on West Locust Street in Davenport. Pit gates open next Friday at 4:30 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
