WaKEENEY, Kan. (April 27) – Jeff Tubbs visited the Jason Oil winner’s circle twice Sunday evening, April 27, at Wakeeney Speedway.

The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified divisions ran two features from a rain shortened program on April 6.

In the makeup Stock Car feature, Shannon Maughlin took the early lead, trailed by Michael Meyer, Eric Kinderknecht and Tubbs. But on lap eight, Tubbs took a lead he would not relinquish en route to the win.

In the night’s regular feature, Jason Davis got out front at the drop of the green, followed by Maughlin and Kinderknecht. Maughlin passed Davis on the following lap, and led through lap 9 as Tubbs took the lead at the halfway mark. Maughlin regained the lead on lap 14 and looked to be on his way to a win, but Tubbs made a late race move to score his second win of the night and third of the weekend after winning at RPM Speedway on Saturday.

In the Modified makeup feature, Kyle Rohleder took over the top spot on lap four and never looked back on his way to the checkers. In the regular feature, Michael Wadel led all 20 laps to make his way to victory lane.

Also winning scheduled features were Daniel Gottschalk in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, Garrett Hager in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Kiowa Higdon in the Mach-1 Sport Compacts.
