Frye, Armstrong, Tubbs repeat at RPM Speedway

HAYS, Kan. (April 26) – RPM Speedway returned to action Saturday night with three drivers making repeat appearances in victory lane.

Tyler Frye won his third Karl Chevrolet Northern Sport Mod feature in a very competitive 20-lap A-main. Jake Krone and Trenton Kleweno both did time up front before Frye resumed command on lap 13 and held on for a trip to the winner’s circle.

Adam Armstrong started 12th and took the lead from Trevor Schmidt on lap 12 and led to the end of the 20-lap IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature.

Jeff Tubbs won his second IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature in what became a very competitive race with Nick Tubbs and B.J. Wagoner.

Jason Schoenberger of Russell led all 20 laps to score the win in the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature. David Murray Jr. chased Schoenberger the entire distance but could not make a pass and had to settle for the runner-up spot. Cody Gearhart flew from 15th to finish third.

Hometown driver Kiowa Higdon led all 12 laps to score his first Mach-1 Sport Compact feature at the 3/8-mile oval.
