Wild Child Race Cars returns as title sponsor of Texas Lone Star Series for IMCA Stock Cars

wild child logoBURLESON, Texas (Feb. 26) – Wild Child Race Cars is back in the saddle as title sponsor of the Texas Lone Star Series for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars.

The Burleson, Texas, chassis builder provides a portion of the $1,000 point fund to be paid to top 10 drivers in standings for the fourth annual series.

The champion earns $250. Other point fund shares are $175 for second, $125 for third, $100 for fourth, $75 for fifth, $75 for sixth and $50 for eighth through 10th.

Point fund checks will be presented during the national awards banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office.

Winners of series features last weekend at Abilene Speedway were Matt Guillaume of Haslet, J.C. Howell of Mabank and Jason Batt of Harker Heights. The series continues March 1 and 2 at Kennedale Speed­way Park; May 25 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway; July 3 at Cotton Bowl Speedway; and July 4 and 5 at HO’T.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Arnold Motor Supply Southern Region and All­star Performance State points are given at all series events. Bonus points, applicable toward national and regional standings, will be awarded to the champion.

“There was a time when the status of the Lone Star Series was uncertain but the status of Wild Child’s partnership with it was never in doubt,” said IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “They’ve returned as the I-Stock title sponsor and hopefully racers in the region will give them a call when they are in the market for a new chassis during the off-season.”
