PEORIA, Ariz. – Canyon Speedway Park celebrates a milestone event with a $5,000 IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified payday.
The 25th annual Desert Classic brings the best drivers from around the Larry Shaw Racing Western Region to town Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1-2. Saturday’s 40-lap main event pays $2,500 for second and $1,250 for third. Minimum start money for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier is $300.
The Friday program boasts a full night of racing with the qualifying feature winner picking up $600. The top six finishers that evening will be locked into Saturday’s big show.
An open practice runs from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. Pit passes are $20 and grandstand admission is free.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Hot laps are at approximately 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
Spectator admission both nights is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and military personnel with ID, $6 for kids ages 7-12 and free for six and under.
Pit passes are $30 for IMCA members and $35 for non-members.
