Kennedale Speedway Park hosts Showdown special this weekend

KENNEDALE, Texas (Sept. 30) – Kennedale Speedway Park’s seventh annual Showdown special is this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5, with four IMCA divisions on the card.

IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds run for $2,500 to win and a minimum of $300 to start their 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying feature.

First place in both the IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Car and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMod features is good for $1,500 while the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature pays $1,000 to win.

Gates open at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3 for practice and registration. Pit passes that evening are $15 and grandstand admission is free. A party in the pits follows.

On Friday, Oct. 4, gates open at 3 p.m., the draw closes at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m. Gates also open at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, the draw closes at 5 p.m. and racing begins at 6 p.m.

Pit passes are $25 on Friday and $30 on Saturday.

Friday’s grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-11. Saturday admission is $15 for adults and $5 for kids. Youngsters five and under get in free both days.
