IMCA Modifieds to headline Mid-America Clash at Salina

SALINA, Kan. – Salina Speedway’s Mid-America Clash is set for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5, with three IMCA divisions seeing action.

IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds will race for a championship purse of nearly $20,000. The main event will pay $5,000 to win and a minimum of $400 to start, and is a qualifier for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.
Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods compete for $2,000 to win with a minimum of $150 paid to start. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks race for $1,000 to win and a minimum of $150 to start.

Entry fees are $165 for the Modifieds, $100 for the Northern SportMods and $75 for the Hobby Stocks.

The Mid-America Clash, previously called the Fall Fling, will start with an open practice session from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Racing begins at 8 p.m. on Friday with heats, ‘B’ features and qualifying features. A post-race party will cap off the evening. This night also features the first-ever FanFest, in which fans are given free tickets to distribute to their family and friends in a contest to see who can bring the most people to the track. The fans returning the most amount of tickets through the gates will have a chance to win prizes.

Saturday is championship day for the drivers including last-chance races and the main event in each division. A full day of festivities are being planned for fans and race teams as well, including meet and greet autograph sessions, kids’ contests, tailgate parties and more. Racing is set to begin at 6 p.m.
Admission is $15 for adults with students ages 17 and under free.
