Shelby County Speedway hosts 22nd annual Tiny Lund Memorial this weekend

HARLAN, Iowa – A purse of more than $50,000 will be paid out at the 22nd annual Tiny Lund Memorial, scheduled this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13 and 14 at Shelby County Speedway.

The IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature pays $3,000 to win, a minimum of $250 to start and is a qualifier for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods both race for $2,000 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks chase a top prize of $1,000.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded to Modified, Stock Car and Hobby Stock drivers. National and state points are at stake for the Northern SportMods.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and Friday’s program of heat races and pole dashes for all divisions follows the 6:30 p.m. drivers’ meeting. Pit passes are $25 and grandstand admission is $10 for adults and $6 for students

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Saturday with the 6 p.m. drivers’ meeting preceding “B” features and the main events. Pit passes are $30. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students.

A two-day grandstand pass for adults is $20. Kids ages 10 and under get in free both days when accompanying a paying adult.

Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 15. Camping spots will be available on the fairgrounds.
