DODGE CITY, Kan. – The United Wireless IMCA Sport Modifieds will have a little extra incentive to reach the front during Saturday’s Pack the Stands night at Dodge City Raceway Park as extra money has been added to their purse for the Aug. 31 event.

Saturday’s card, which offers free admission to Dodge City residents, also includes the track’s other championship chase divisions of IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Thunder Cars and Hornets with racing action going green at 7:30 p.m.

An extra $500 has been added to the United Wireless IMCA SportMod purse on Saturday night by an anonymous donor.
Two hundred of the added $500 will go to the feature winner to bring the victor’s total take to $500. One hundred dollars has been added to both second and third place with 50 dollars added to both fourth and fifth, bringing the total payout for second through fifth to $325, $275, $200 and $175, respectively.
The United Wireless IMCA Sport Modified division has featured highly competitive racing action on a regular basis in 2013 with seven different drivers reaching victory lane in 10 feature events thus far.

Austin Walker has made the visit to victory lane most often with three triumphs while Mike Shenberger has scored a pair of wins. Single triumphs have been claimed by Jeff Kaup, Clay Sellard, Andy Barton, Clay Money and Randle McRoberts.

While he has notched only one victory, Kaup has posted seven other finishes among the top four including three runner-up showings to amass a point lead of 65 markers over Toby Witthuhn with Matthew Crowell, Walker and Josh Appel also among a tightly-bunched top five in points.
Admission to Saturday’s action for those who are not residents of Dodge City is $10 for adults while children 11 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
Only one night of DCRP racing action remains after this Saturday’s card, that being the Sept. 28 Jerry Soderberg Championship Memorial event that includes the URSS Sprint Cars along with the track’s IMCA Modifieds, SportMods and Stock Cars, Thunder Cars and Hornets.
