After racing dirt late models for nearly 30 years, we realized replacing sheet metal every few races is not only expensive but time consuming. Even if only straightening sheet metal, it is time that we often didn't have. We knew there had to be another solution.

The first to come to mind was plastic. However, we quickly decided against this option without even trying it due to the "oil can effect" it has in the heat of the summer and the poor decal adhesion of plastic. We started with identifying what properties we wanted in a body panel: Needs to be as maintenance free as possible Must be dent and crease resistant Could not be heavier than aluminum Must be affordable After reviewing our needs we concluded a composite material would fulfill our needs.
