Rasmussen Rules Antioch for Third RaceSaver Win of 2025

By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (May 31, 2025) — Kyle Rasmussen of Clovis won the 25 lap California RaceSaver Sprint Series main event. The two-time State champion turned in a rather dominant performance in collecting his third win of the season. Rasmussen led from the outset ahead of reigning California State champion Phil Heynen and current point leader Davey Pombo Jr. Following a lap five yellow flag for Rino Feliciano, Rasmussen resumed command. Pombo slipped past Heynen for second at that point, but Rasmussen started pulling away again. The race had one more slowdown, but that did not deter Rasmussen as he scored an impressive victory ahead of Davey Pombo Jr. and Heynen.

Rasmussen Rallies to Second Straight California RaceSaver Win

(Apr. 12, 2025) — The California RaceSaver Sprint Series delivered a thriller Saturday night, where Clovis chauffeur Kyle Rasmussen charged from sixth to win the 25-lap RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car main event at Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern County Raceway. Rasmussen made his move into second just before Pombo hit lapped traffic. With the field bunching up ahead of the leader, Rasmussen seized his opportunity—sliding under Pombo to take command entering turn one on lap 16. From there, Rasmussen never looked back. He powered away from the pack to secure his second straight win with the California RaceSaver Series in as many events. Pombo held on for second, with Phil Heynan completing the podium in third. Rasmussen Rules as RaceSaver Sprints Return to Merced

(Mar. 29, 2025) — The California RaceSaver Sprint Series launched its inaugural season in thrilling fashion at Merced Speedway, with Clovis driver Kyle Rasmussen leading wire-to-wire to win the first-ever feature in series history. The 25-lap main event on the Central Valley’s ¼-mile clay oval marked the first RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car race at Merced since 2021. Rasmussen and veteran Davey Pombo battled for the lead in the early laps, with Rasmussen— a two-time California State champion and former Western RaceSaver Sprint Series title winner— securing the top spot on lap two by expertly working the high side of the track. A handful of cautions slowed the pace throughout the race, but Rasmussen was flawless on every restart, rebuilding his lead each time. Callahan Cruises to Second Dubuque Late Model Win, Takes Sunoco Bonus

By Ben Deatherage DUBUQUE, Iowa (Jun. 8, 2025) — Joel Callahan put on a clinic in the 25-lap, $1,000-to-win Sunoco IMCA Late Model main event at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. The three-time track champion used the high line to power into the lead on the opening circuit and built a commanding advantage on the historic 3/8-mile oval. Despite persistent pressure from Clay Simpson, Callahan looked unshakable. Simpson’s challenge cooled as Ron Klein took over second and began to close in. But Klein’s charge ended with a spin in turn four on lap 22, setting up a three-lap sprint to the finish. Moyer Breaks Through at Selinsgrove with PA Sprint Series

(Jun. 4, 2025) — Paul Moyer, a hard-working guy who largely funds his own team and brings his car to the track on an open trailer, scored his first career win Wednesday night in the 20-lap River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series feature at Selinsgrove Speedway. A second-place finish in his heat race enabled Moyer to draw for his feature starting position, and he drew the pole. From there, the Beaver Springs resident out-dragged Christian Rumsey for the early lead and wired the field in a non-stop race that took less than seven minutes to complete. His margin of victory was 1.385 seconds. Rumsey, from Middletown, New York, fought off a challenge from Josh Spicer and held onto second.
