Devin Smith, Fett, Toppenberg win first of season at Boone

By Joyce Eisele  BOONE, Iowa (July 9, 2022) – Nick Roberts returned to victory lane when he snagged the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win Saturday evening at Boone Speedway. Devin Smith got his first local win of the season in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Alec Fett won the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event. Mike Smith repeated in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Jason Toppenberg got a first win in the IMCA STARS Mod Lite division.  The STARS Mod Lites ran their 15-lap feature flag to flag. Early leader was Joel Huggins before Toppenberg snatched the top spot away on lap three. The two swapped the lead back and forth for several laps until Toppenberg was able to finally establish the top spot for good and then went home to take the flying checkers and the win. Huggins held down the runner-up spot and following a distance behind in third was Randy Bryan. 363 drivers complete online entry for 40th annual IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (July 8, 2022)– Boone Speedway will be the place to be for the 40th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The pre-registration numbers already prove it.  Just one week into online registration, a record 363 drivers from across the United States and Canada have already confirmed plans to compete at the Sept. 5-10 Super Nationals. Reynolds reigns at Boone’s King of the Katwalks

BOONE, Iowa (June 25, 2022) – He’s been an IMCA Junior National Champion and an IMCA national champion.  And next year, Kaden Reynolds will get his name on the souvenir T-shirt as winner of the Saturday night King of the Katwalks main event at Boone Speedway. Inaugural $2,500 to win King of the Katwalks for IMCA Stock Cars set for June 25 at Boone

BOONE, Iowa (June 14, 2022) – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will run for $2,500 to win at the Fox Welding/Vermeer King of the Katwalks presented by VanEaton Pork on Saturday, June 25 at Boone Speedway. Total purse for the inaugural special is nearly $14,000 with the winner becoming eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. The runner-up earns $2,000 with $1,500 paid for third, $1,000 for fourth, $750 for fifth, $500 for sixth, $450 for seventh, $400 for eighth, $350 for ninth, $300 for 10th and a minimum of $250 to start. Doug Smith scores first Modified win of season at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (May 28, 2022) – Boone Speedway saw some of the best racing of the year on Saturday night, with close racing and thrilling finishes all night long among the 161 race cars filling the pits. Doug Smith scored his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified victory of the season at the speedway in a close one at the line.  It was Michael Jaennette coming out on top of a thrilling IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and Jake Sachau got win number two of the year in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. Mike Smith went back-to-back in winning the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature in yet another close finish, and Joe Glick took the win in a Corn Belt Clash Series race for the IMCA STARS Mod Lites. IMCA STARS Mod Lites have May 27-29 Cornbelt Clash dates

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (May 23, 2022) – IMCA STARS Mod Lites race for $500 to win each night of their Cornbelt Clash tripleheader over the Memorial Weekend. Features Friday, May 27 at Marshalltown Speedway, Saturday, May 28 at Boone Speedway and Sunday, May 29 at Stuart Speedway all pay a minimum of $100 to start. Yoshimura bonuses of $250, $150 and $100 will be paid to top three eligible finishers on Sunday; hard chargers each night also receive a certificate for a STARS plated tire from Hooser. Entry fee is $30 and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded each night. Pit gates open at 5:15 p.m. and racing is at 7:30 p.m. at Marshalltown. First season wins at Boone go to Ward, Jerovetz, Sachau, Knutson, Zehm

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (May 14, 2022) – It was week number three of the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season at Boone Speedway on Saturday night and there were new winners for 2022 in all divisions.  Tim Ward captured his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature. Troy Jerovetz won in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Jake Sachau took the checkers in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods.  Eric Knutson visited victory lane for the first time this season in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock division and it was Bryan Zehm taking his first win of the year in IMCA STARS Mod Lite action. In the STARS Mod Lite 15-lap feature, Zehm caught early leader Ben George and took over the top spot at lap six, never to look back. Lapped traffic was no issue for Zehm as he held the pack at bay to capture the win. Joel Huggins, who had won the two previous races, started 10th and finished as the runner-up. Derrick Knutsen was third. Boone Frostbuster wins to Ward, Kuehl, Murty, Smith

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (April 9, 2022) – Four drivers wrote their names into the history books with IMCA Frostbuster wins Saturday at Boone Speedway. One hundred and ninety cars took to Iowa’s Action Track and checkers flew for Tim Ward in the IMCA Modifieds, Taylor Kuehl in the IMCA Northern SportMods and a couple 2021 Super Nationals champions, Dallon Murty in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Mike Smith in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Forty-three ground-pounding Modifieds were on hand and it was defending IMCA national champion Jeff Larson leading the opening laps. By lap 11, however, Ward had grabbed the top spot.   Ward, already Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible, never relinquished his lead as he motored home to the win. Jeremy Mills had to be content with second. Third went to Larson, Devin Fouquette was fourth and Johnathon Logue, in his Modified debut, rounded out the top five. BOONE, Iowa (April 6, 2022) – Forecasts are promising for Frostbuster specials this weekend at Boone Speedway and Stuart Speedway. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win along with Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $500 to win, IMCA Northern SportMods for $400 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $250 to win Saturday, April 9 at Boone and Sunday, April 10 at Stuart. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, re­gional and KMJ Performance Iowa State points will be awarded both nights. Mach-1 Sport Compacts are also on the Sunday card at Stuart.
