Late restart opens door for Schmuhl at Angell Park

(Aug. 11, 2024)—Taking advantage of a late-race restart, Jeff Schmuhl topped the $1,000 to win King of the Park feature for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds at Angell Park Speedway.  It was the second-ever visit for the division to visit “The Prairie” and the win made Schmuhl eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Trent Wyssbrod had set the early pace, mastering the bottom of the racetrack and then pulling away from the pack for the majority of the 20-lap main event. Despite being slowed down by three cautions, he continued to outpace his challengers on the restarts. However, the final restart would spice things up considerably. When the green light came on for the final time, with six laps to go, Schmuhl moved around Dan Roedl for second place and then set his sights on Wyssbrod, launching a formal challenge on the 15th circuit. IMCA Modifieds return to Wisconsin’s Angell Park Speedway this Sunday

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (Aug. 6, 2024) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds return to Angell Park Speedway this Sunday, for a $1,000 to win feature during the annual King of the Park special. Winner of the Aug. 11 main event becomes eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. The feature pays a minimum of $125 to start with IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Razor Chassis North Central Region and Wisconsin State points to be awarded. Twenty-one Modifieds representing three states competed during their first-ever visit to the 1/3-mile Wisconsin speed factory, located just five minutes northeast of Madison, last summer. Pit gates open at 1:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 5 p.m. with racing to follow. Pit passes are $30. Spectator admission is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and military, $10 for students ages 12-17 and $5 for ages 6-11, and free for five and under. Sunday visit to Wisconsin’s Angell Park Speedway is first for IMCA Modifieds

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (Aug. 7, 2023) – A first-ever Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature winner will be crowned this Sunday at Angell Park Speedway. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win, eligibility for Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying, and a minimum of $100 to start in their first visit to the 1/3-mile Wisconsin speed factory at Sun Prairie and just five minutes northeast of Madison. The sanctioned division joins Angell Park’s annual King of the Park program on Aug. 13.
