Bitting Holds Off Madrid for $2,000 Hobby Stock Triumph at Show Low’s Budweiser 150 Freedom Nationals

By Rowdy Briggs SHOW LOW, Ariz. (June 27, 2026) — Steve Bitting Jr. led all 50 laps to capture the $2,000 Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature Saturday night during the Budweiser 150 Freedom Nationals at Deuce of Clubs Thunder Raceway. The purse was increased because of the outstanding car count. The Phoenix driver earned his third B&B Racing Chassis Southern Region victory of the season, with two of those wins coming at Deuce of Clubs Thunder Raceway. Anthony Madrid, who earned the pole by winning the dash, pressured Bitting throughout the race while fending off challenges from Jason Duggins, Kyler Duggins and Hunter Ferrell. Late-race contact shuffled the running order as Kyler Duggins was sent to the rear following a restart. Shortly afterward, Ferrell spun, collecting Wesson Edwards-Miller, whose car rolled after bouncing off the outside wall. Bitting maintained control through the late restarts to secure the victory ahead of Madrid, Jason Duggins, Joe Peterson and Charles McDaniel Jr. Winemiller Claims $1,500 SportMod Prize Eric Winemiller took command just past the midway point and drove away [Read More]

Shute Capitalizes on Late Incident for Boone Modified Victory

By Jane Burd BOONE, Iowa (June 27, 2026) — Todd Shute got the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature victory after a dramatic late-race incident eliminated leader Paul Nagle with just three laps remaining. Nagle led the opening 17 circuits and appeared poised for his first victory of the season before Shute attempted a pass entering turn one. Contact sent Nagle spinning, and Chaz Baca, with nowhere to go, struck Nagle’s disabled machine, ending both drivers’ nights. Shute, of Norwalk, went on to score his 10th Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season, including his third at Boone Speedway in 2026. Trevor Fitz finished second ahead of Izac Mallicoat, Corey Sauerman, and Jake McBirnie. Chase Weimer had an impressive charge, advancing from 18th to eighth. Smith Leads Flag-to-Flag and MacDonald Steals Second Boone Stock Car Feature Devin Smith led every lap of the first Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature to earn his fourth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season, all of them coming at Boone Speedway.
