Braaksma Dominates and Fitz Finishes Off Friday Modified Qualifiers

By Ben Deatherage BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 11, 2026) — Ethan Braaksma dominated the opening qualifier, while Trevor Fitz controlled the second to claim Friday night victories during Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified qualifying at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Two 25-lap qualifiers determined eight starting spots in the outside lane of Saturday’s Big Dance, with the top four finishers from each locking themselves into Saturday’s championship event. Braaksma put the Trent Guest and Danny Meier-owned No. 11E out front on the opening lap before a caution quickly slowed the field. The 2026 IMCA TV Clash on the Coast champion and two-time Dakota Classic Modified Tour champion remained in command on the restart and continued to lead through another caution on lap six. Texas Showdown winner Steven Whiteaker Jr. and defending RPM Speedway track champion Dakota Sproul both tried to find a way around the Newton, Iowa racer, but neither could make the move. Championship Saturday Start Moved Up to 11 A.M. at Super Nationals

By Ben Deatherage BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 11, 2026) — Championship Saturday at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s will get an earlier start, with Saturday’s program at Boone Speedway moved up to 11 a.m. Pit gates and registration will open at 9 a.m. Big Dances for the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods, and Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks headline the final day of America’s Racin’ Vacation. The Modifieds and Stock Cars will also have last chance qualifier heats and last chance qualifier mains to fill out the balance of their respective Big Dance lineups, with the Stock Cars opening the program. Other events on the docket include the Stephenville Starter Hobby Stock Race of Champions and Pulse Racing Innovations/Dirt Defender Racing Products SportMod Race of Champions, which were originally scheduled for Tuesday but postponed due to weather. Beckendorf Capitalizes Late and Hibdon Controls Thursday Modified Qualifiers

By Ben Deatherage BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 10, 2026) — Brandon Beckendorf capitalized on late trouble for the leaders, while Kollin Hibdon took command near halfway and never looked back in Thursday’s Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified qualifying during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway. Two 25-lap qualifiers determined eight starting spots in the middle lane of Saturday’s Big Dance, with the top four finishers in each locking themselves into the championship event. Minnesota’s Jake Timm led the opening lap of the first qualifier before a caution slowed the field on lap two. Timm was strong on the restart and quickly began opening an advantage before another yellow on lap four. Timm again got away well, while two-time IMCA TV Clash on the Coast champion Austen Becerra of Illinois rocketed into second.
