Murray County, Arlington dates are next for Redline Racing Parts North Star Series

SLAYTON, Minn. – Dates at Murray County Speedway in Slayton and Arlington Raceway this weekend make up the only doubleheader of the season for the Redline Racing Parts North Star Series. Murray County hosts touring IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts on Friday, Aug. 8. The same five divisions are in action on Saturday, Aug. 9 at Arlington. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. at Slayton. Racing follows 7:15 p.m. hot laps. Grandstand admission is $11 for adults, $6 for students ages 11-15 and free for 10 and under. IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Cars are also on the card at Arlington. The pits open at 3 p.m. and hot lap are at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps begin at 6 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Spectator admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids. Pit passes are $25 both nights. IMCA Modified stars shine at high-paying Hancock County specials

BRITT, Iowa – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified stars shine at two of the top-paying special events of the season on back-to-back nights at Hancock County Speedway. The 20th annual Night of 1,000 Stars on Thursday, Aug. 7 pays as much as $9,000 and a minimum of $3,500 to win. And on Friday, Aug. 8, the second annual Night of 10,000 Stars boasts a potential payout of $10,000 and a guaranteed $7,000 to the winner. Both Modified features are 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers and will be 50 laps. Fireworks follow each night’s race program. The Aug. 7 event is also an XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour show and is sponsored by Doug Studer Farms. Lap money totals $2,500 with a $1,000 bonus to the leader at midway. Rooks County Speedway hosts Aug. 13, 14 fair races

By Mike Hughes STOCKTON, Kan. – Rooks County Speedway in Stockton, Kan., will host races during the Rooks County Fair on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 13-14. Sanctioned IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks will be in action both nights. It will be a complete show each night. Tonight’s Deery Series event in Independence is canceled

By Ryan Clark INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (Aug. 6) – With wet weather in the area and an increased threat of rain later this afternoon into the evening, officials have canceled tonight’s Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models event at Independence Motor Speedway. The event, which was also rained out on its original date of July 1, will not be made up. “The weather has affected us all year and tonight is no different,” said promoter Darin Burco of S&B Promotions. “It isn’t a decision we wanted to make,” he continued, “but it’s one we don’t take lightly.” With an increased chance for rain in Independence around the time hot laps were scheduled to start, Burco said the last thing he wanted to do is force people to drive from all over the state just to get rained out with no make-up date available. “We’ve talked to meteorologists who tell us the track of the weather will change and we’ll get wet around 6 p.m.,” he said. “I used to race the Deery Series and [Read More]

Roth, Hansen take third wins of the season at Eagle Raceway

Trent Roth took the lead on the fifth lap to drive to his third win of the season in the NAPA IMCA Northern SportMod feature. Benji Legg ran second ahead of Shawn Harker and Gary Saathoff. Mike Hansen also earned his third win of the season in the Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock feature. Hansen took the lead on the 10th circuit en route to victory. Justin Busboom, Mark McKinney and Russ Specht completed the top four. Following an early restart, Mike Densberger made his way into second in the Kaplan University IMCA Modified feature. Snellenberger, Cota collect wins at Seymour Speedway

SEYMOUR, Wis. (Aug. 3) – Racing resumed at Seymour Speedway following a week off for the Outagamie County Fair, and the Budweiser sponsored program produced three first-time winners and a pair of repeat feature winners Sunday night. The Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars put their feature on the track first with Travis Springstroh taking the lead on lap 2 from Larry Parshen. Current point leader Rod Snellenberger quickly moved from mid-pack to the front and powered into the lead on lap five. Snellenberger pulled away over the final half of the race to pick up his second win of the season and 197th of his career. Kyle Frederick, Travis Van Straten, Jeremy Wiitala and Travis Springstroh completed the top five. (Aug. 2) – After Lance Mielke received the checkered flag in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature at Riviera Raceway, the pressure was on Tejay Mielke to duplicate the accomplishment in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock division. “Lance is my brother,” Tejay said. “I’ve got two brothers who race Sport Compacts, and Lance came out of the B feature and won and put the pressure on me. I had to come through. This is the first time that two of us have won on the same night. (Aug. 3) – Gordy Gundaker, Steven Delonjay, Brandon Savage, Tanner Klingele and Austen Bercerra all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceway on during Kohl Wholesale Night at the Races. Brandon Savage scored the Powder Coat Plus IMCA Stock Car main event win after slipping past a crash on lap eight that eliminated the top two runners. Savage held back Terry Houston to take the win with Jake Powers in third, Abe Huls in fourth and Jim Lynch in fifth. Huls and Savage were the heat race winners. Tanner Klingele picked up his first Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA Northern SportMod feature event win after using an incredible move on a lap three restart. FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (Aug. 4) – Saturday, August 9 marks the final race in the Gandrud Chevrolet Red, White & Blue Series at 141 Speedway. The series will award over $10,000 in contingencies to the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, along with IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Belleville Motorsports North Central Regional, Allstar Performance State and track points. Mother Nature shortens show at RPM Speedway

By Mike Hughes HAYS, KS (Aug. 2) – RPM Speedway officials had to shorten the racing program Saturday evening, August 2, when a continuous drizzle and lightning forced officials to cancel the IMCA Stock Car and Modified features. Those two features will be made up at the next race program on Saturday, August 16. Austin Walker led all 20 laps en route to his first Golden Plains Trucking IMCA Northern SportMod feature win at Hays, his second victory of the week after his feature win at Wakeeney the previous Sunday. Several caution flags kept the field close, but Walker was up to the challenge and drove off for the trip to victory lane. Clay Money finished second, followed by Daniel Gottschalk, Blaine Walt, and point leader Tyler Frye. Heat race winners were Walt, Walker and Frye. Garrett Hager won his third Rebel Tank Service IMCA Hobby Stock feature at his hometown track.
