Information meeting for Minnesota tracks to be held Feb. 22

BAXTER, Minn. – A transitional rules and information meeting has been scheduled for drivers of three Minnesota race tracks. Representatives from Princeton Speedway, North Central Speedway in Brainerd and Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon will be at the meeting, set for Sunday, Feb. 22. IMCA representatives will also be present at the 3 p.m. meeting, which will be held at Arrowwood Lodge, 6967 Lake Forest Road in Baxter. Limited seating will be available and the meeting is open to drivers only. The 2015 season will be the first under the IMCA banner for the Brainerd and Princeton ovals. Buffalo River Race Park will be entering its second season as an IMCA sanctioned facility.

Sunoco Race Fuels renews divisional title roles for IMCA Stocks and Hobbies, plus Deery cash awards

LINWOOD, Pa. – Synonymous with IMCA racing for more than two decades, Sunoco Race Fuels returns to prestigious partnership roles with the sanctioning body in 2015. Manufacturer of the official fuel of IMCA and based in Linwood, Pa., Sunoco has renewed its title sponsorship for both the Stock Car and Hobby Stock divisions. Top 15 drivers in final national standings for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars receive shares of a $5,000 point fund. 2015 season is second in five-year pact with Mach-1 as title sponsor for IMCA Sport Compacts

ABBOTT, Texas (Feb. 4) – The 2015 race season is the second in a five-year agreement making Mach-1 of Abbott, Texas, title sponsor of IMCA’s Sport Compact division. Mach-1 will provide a portion of the $1,000 point fund to be paid to top 10 drivers in final national standings for the 4-cylinder class in 2015. The Gary Mach-owned company began giving Sport Compact contingencies in 2009, first put its name on the division in 2011 and inked the new five-year contract in 2014. Sport Compact champions were crowned at 41 tracks in 10 states in last year. One hundred and nineteen different drivers have now won one or more of the 200 track or special series titles awarded since IMCA began sanctioning the division in 2006. Deery Series dates added at Maquoketa, Tipton

VINTON, Iowa (Feb. 3) – Two more dates have been added to the 2015 Deery Brothers Summer Series schedule. The IMCA Late Model tour will be at Jackson County Speedway in Maquoketa on Tuesday, June 9 and at Cedar County Raceway in Tipton on Tuesday, Aug. 11. Alaska rookie planning next racing trip following first IMCA starts in Arizona

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The first Alaska driver to race with IMCA in 14 seasons is already looking forward to his next racing trip to the continental U.S. Scott Sluka totaled 119 points in five January IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified outings at Arizona Speedway and Canyon Speedway Park. He was fifth in both IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Larry Shaw Racing Western Region standings before it was time to head home to Fairbanks. “We qualified for all five features. Princeton and North Central Speedways to race under IMCA banner in 2015

VINTON, Iowa – IMCA will administer all six of the current divisions running at Minnesota race tracks Princeton Speedway in Princeton and North Central Speedway in Brainerd this season. IMCA will tabulate points and pay out point funds, and all classes will use IMCA procedures at regular weekly programs. “We want all of the racers at these two historic Minnesota tracks to know that they will be competing with a national sanctioning body behind them in the upcoming season,” said IMCA President Brett Root. “We are excited about working with owner Cliff Sasker and general managers K.T. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are new at Cocopah’s Winter Nationals

SOMERTON, Ariz. – A fourth IMCA division joins the programs each night of Cocopah Speedway’s fourth annual Winter Nationals. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, along with IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, vie at Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6 and 7 and Feb. 13 and 14 shows. The Somerton speedplant becomes the first track in Arizona to sanction IMCA Stock Cars in 2015.
