$1,000 is top check at Skyline Atomicwraps.com IMCA Empire State Series show

CORTLAND, N.Y. (July 12) – A $1,000 check and berth on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot are at stake this Sunday when the Atomicwraps.com IMCA Empire State Series travels to Skyline Raceway Park. The July 17 show is the fifth of 10 events on the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified series schedule this season. Sponsor for the IMCA portion of the Legend of Skyline, A Night to Remember program is DFG Construction. A minimum of $75 will be paid to start the 25-lap feature and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern, Allstar Performance State and special series points, but no local track points, will be given at the draw/redraw show. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $35. Schoenberger, Rohleder win at RPM Speedway

By Mike Hughes HAYS, Kan. (July 9) – Jason Schoenberger and Kyle Rohleder were first-time winners this season at RPM Speedway on Saturday evening. Schoenberger edged Jason Rogers by about a foot in the closest feature finish on the night in the Advantage Glass Plus IMCA Stock Car feature. Shaylon Holloway led the first 2 laps, then was passed by Cody Zimmerman. His lead was short-lived as Trevor Schmidt took over the top spot the next lap. Schmidt continued to lead through lap 11 before Holloway went back in front. Schoenberger took command on lap 15 and led to the finish as he held off Rogers at the flagstand for the win. Nolan Remus was third. Rohleder took the lead on lap two from Marty Clark and led the remaining distance in the Gib’s Auto Supply IMCA Modified feature. IMCA Modifieds race for $10,001 to win at Dacotah Speedway’s Legendary

MANDAN, N.D. – As the name of the race would imply, the winner of the largest paying IMCA-sanctioned Modified event in North Dakota racing history will go home with a legendary paycheck. The Friday, July 15 Legendary 50 at Dacotah Speedway follows the Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Tour for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and pays $10,001 to win. All IMCA rules and procedures will be in effect for the 50-lapper, a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event. A mandatory mid-race pit stop will allow race fans to see their favorite driver and crew up close and personal as they work on their cars right in front of Dacotah Speedway’s huge grandstand. Grams Memorial honors go to Johnson

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 9) – Bill Johnson was the third and final leader in Arlington Raceway’s Dan Grams Memorial feature. The Saturday feature, part of the IMCA EMI RaceSaver Sprint Car Series of Minnesota, saw Brett Geldner set the fast pace the first four times around the big, fast oval from his front row start. Geldner gave way to the battle for the lead between Michael Stien and Johnson. A yellow came out on lap eight and Stein took the lead on the ensuing restart. Two laps later, however, Johnson took charge. With only a few laps left, Stien tried unsuccessfully to pass on the high side going into turn three but couldn’t get the job done and settled for second. Jordan Wilmes was promoted to third when Brandon Allen came up light on the post-race scales. Williston date is next for Dakota Classic Tour

WILLISTON, N.D. – The Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Tour now heads to Williston Basin Speedway on Tuesday, July 12. Monday evening’s scheduled show for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Estevan Motor Speedway was cancelled because of rain; a state of emergency was declared in the city due to the resulting flooding. A record 99 Modifieds and 35 Stock Cars saw heat and “B” action on July 9 at Jamestown Speedway before inclement weather cut the rest of the race program short; the July 10 program at Nodak Speedway in Minot was also a casualty to weather. Bushore, Rudolph get first Boone wins of 2016

BOONE, Iowa (July 9) – Two drivers found their way to victory lane for the first time this season at Boone Speedway on Saturday night. Joel Bushore captured his first win of the season in the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified division while Aaron Rudolph made it win number one in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Bushore got to the lead by lap two and never let the cautions deter his march to the checkers. Jon Snyder took second place, Russ Dickerson was third, Mike Van Genderen, who had won the last two features, was fourth and Tony Cox finished fifth. Bushore won for the first time this year at the speedway. Jordan Peters got around early leader David McQuiston in the Hobby Stock headliner but was soon having to hold back Aaron Rudolph. This is Andersen’s first season back in the car after taking two years off to give birth to her daughter Lexi. “The car felt really good tonight. Roger Sluka and Bruce Haskell do wonders with it. My cousin Jessie passed away Tuesday and I talked to my aunt on the way out to the races tonight,” she said. “This win is dedicated to Jessie and my family.” Jack Dover made a fantastic run in the RaceSaver IMCA EMI Sprint Car main after coming through the B and moving from his 16th starting spot to take the checkers. Brauns goes back to back at West Liberty

Now Brauns has two wins in as many weeks as he bested the 25-lap feature Saturday night. Brauns led the caution-free race flag to flag in scoring an impressive win over Andy Eckrich and Chad Holladay. Dakota Hayden took advantage of a late-race caution in the Performance Concepts IMCA Modified feature and shot past race leader Matt Bodman and went on to score the win. “Ladies’ night” Saturday at Off Road Speedway

(July 9) – The winners of the first two feature races made Saturday night at Off Road Speedway appear to be “ladies’ night.” Brooke Fluckiger won the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature and Tiffany Bittner was the winner of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main event. Fluckiger’s victory was the 23-year-old’s first-ever win at Off Road Speedway. “We rolled the car here a couple weeks into (the season) and didn’t have very good luck last year here, so I’m very excited,” Fluckiger said. “We’ve been in the top five, but it’s always a fight. Last year I think we ran here around eight times, and I probably finished about three of them. But we’ve had a lot better luck here this year than we ever have.” A good start helped Fluckiger break to the front from her third row-outside starting position just two laps into the 12-lap race. Blurton thunders to URSS win at Lincoln County

(July 9) – Feeling the thunder and getting to see the lightning was the packed house of race fans that assembled at Lincoln County Raceway as the URSS Sprint Cars joined forces with the IMCA competitors that call Lincoln County Raceway their Saturday night home. Leading the way from the onset, Zach Blurton piloted his rocket ship to the URSS victory. Blurton grabbed the lead early and never looked back to cruise to the winner’s circle in the 30-lapper. Luke Cranston settled for runner-up honors and Ty Williams crossed the line in third. Cole Hodges grabbed the lead on the second circuit and led to the end of the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature. Kyle Werkmeister was the green to checkered leader in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature.
