Repeat winners reign at Hancock County

By Greg Grabianowski BRITT, Iowa (July 16) – Repeat winners and starting in the fourth row was the magical starting spot in an evening of dirt track racing at the Hancock County Speedway Saturday night. Oliver Monson won his sixth feature of the year; David Smith and Josh Ruby each won their fourth while Drew Barglof won for the third time and Nick Meyer earned his second win of the season at the oval. Ruby started on the outside of the fourth row before steering his No. 30 rig back into the winner’s circle in the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature. Potential $13,000 in bonuses paid to Super Nationals champions

BOONE, Iowa – Their support of their local sanctioned tracks will pay off again this September for champions at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. As much as $13,000 in bonuses, determined by driver’s number of sanctioned starts during the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season, will be paid to the seven champions crowned during the 34th annual Super Nationals, to be held Sept. 5-10 at Boone Speedway. “Super Nationals is now the biggest stage for seven of our divisions,” noted IMCA President Brett Root. “As such, it’s the perfect opportunity to reward the champions who have supported our weekly tracks throughout the season.” The Modified champion can take home as much as $5,000 in bonus money, getting $100 for each of as many as 50 sanctioned starts. More than bragging rights at stake for first Super Nationals Southern SportMod champ

BOONE, Iowa – The Southern SportMod champion at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s will go home with a lot more than bragging rights. Final night for All-Star qualifying is Thursday

VINTON, Iowa – The final night for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified drivers to qualify for the 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot is Thursday, July 21. If not already vote eligible, winners of three Hawkeye Dirt Tour events this week – Tuesday at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Wednesday at Southern Iowa Speedway and Thursday at Knoxville Raceway, become All-Star candidates. Two drivers from each of the five Modified regions will be voted onto the starting grid in electronic balloting via the IMCA Facebook page that runs from Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29. Three-day swing takes IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour to Des Moines, Osky, Knoxville

DES MOINES, Iowa (July 14) – Three events in as many nights will test the mettle of both men and machines following the Hawkeye Dirt Tour. Traveling Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds are at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway in Des Moines on Tuesday, July 19 and at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa on Wednesday, July 20 for $1,000 to win events before running for $1,500 to win on Thursday, July 21 at Knoxville Raceway. The inaugural Dirt Duel is the third in a three-night swing for the IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour. Pruitt paces IMCA Stock Cars at Boone

BOONE, Iowa (July 16) – It was another full night of racing Saturday at the Boone Speedway, where it was Elmquist Towing night. There was a new face in victory lane in the IMCA Stock Car class, while three other divisions saw repeat winners. Brandon Pruitt scored his first win at Boone this season in the 18-lap IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Cory Bushnell got around Missouri racer Brad Whitney at lap six, to take over as captain of the ship. He soon had Pruitt breathing down his tail pipes, pestering him at each corner. Pruitt’s swing to the outside paid off, as he took the lead on lap 12. A couple laps later, Trent Murphy was applying pressure to the leader, searching everything for a way around Pruitt. But it wasn’t to be, as Pruitt shook off his advances, and took the checkers. Murphy, who started 11th, finished a close second. Holladay scores biggest win of career

By Jerry Mackey WEST LIBERTY, Iowa (July 16) – Saturday’s action at the West Liberty Raceway included a 40-lap main event for the iWireless IMCA Late Models for the Ideal Ready Mix Tri-Track Challenge. The night belonged to Muscatine’s Chad Holladay as Holladay charged in to the race lead at the green flag and went on to lead all 40 laps en route to a very impressive win which saw him lap up to the seventh place finisher. The 40 laps went caution-free as Holladay built a half-lap lead over second place finisher Scott Fitzpatrick. Holladay stated in victory lane, “ This Gheer’d up car was totally awesome and this is the biggest win of my racing career.” Justin Kay nipped Joel Callahan at the finish line for third. Weisnicht wins IMCA Modified main at Shawano

By Scott Owen SHAWANO, Wis. (July 16) – Mark Weisnicht scored his first Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified win of the season Saturday at Shawano Speedway. Shawn Frelich jumped into the lead on the opening lap and was immediately pressured by Jim Zdroik. Weisnicht raced his way past Zdroik for the second position on lap seven. Zdroik, Jerry Wilinski, and Lance Arneson completed the top five on ten. As Wilinski’s machine drifted up the track he made contact with the Frelich. Frelich’s car got into the wall, ending his night. Wilinski was charged with the caution and sent to the rear of the field. Weisnicht, who had been running third, inherited the lead and was able to hold off Zdroik and Arneson for the victory. Joe White had the car to beat early on in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Parker wins first IMCA Stock Car feature at 141

By Greg Aregoni FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (July 16) – Christmas in July took place at 141 Speedway on Saturday night with over 110 bikes given away to kids. Chase Parker received his own present and it was a brand new trophy courtesy of his first career IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win. Chris Malfroid looked locked and loaded in the beginning of the main event. Malfroid cruised around in front of the pack with Parker his only threat. Parker tailed Malfroid and found his line coming out of turn four on lap nine. Parker took the lead and never looked back. The race was for second from then on. Shawn Wagner ran toward the front using the topside of the speedway after starting 12th. Wagner knocked off a car a lap on his mid-race run.
