IMCA state champions in chase for new post-season award from Eibach Springs

CORONA, Calif. – Eibach Springs’ post-season IMCA awards program will pay off even more in 2020. The Corona, Calif., manufacturer and 12th-year IMCA sponsor gives an Eibach-branded fire suit to a first-time state champion. The drawing for that award will be held after point standings become official in late October; eligible drivers will have won career-first IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Late Model, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod or Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod state titles. Winters Performance Products rewards IMCA Modified ROY, regional champions

YORK, Pa. – The national rookie of the year and champions of all five regions for IMCA Modifieds earn Winters Performance Products awards again in 2020. The York, Pa., manufacturer and six-year IMCA sponsor gives a quick change rear end to the top rookie driver in the division, and $100 product certificates to each regional champion. New IMCA sanctions make history at Lafayette County Speedway

DARLINGTON, Wis. – A southwest Wisconsin speedplant with nearly seven decades of racing history adds three IMCA divisions to regular weekly shows this season. Lafayette County Speedway at Darlington sanctions the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods beginning in 2020. Twelve Friday programs are scheduled during the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season, from April 24 to Aug. 14. “IMCA is very well respected in the racing industry and a lot of our drivers already race IMCA,” explained Media Director Kari Ruf. “We’ve been getting good car counts and our rules were similar to IMCA’s. We decided sanctioning was the good way for us to go.” Both Modified and Northern SportMod fields are expected to be well represented by drivers from the tri-state area also including Illinois and Iowa. Warmerdam gets career first feature win at Western RaceSaver Sprint Series opener

HANFORD, Calif. (Feb. 22) – A third-generation driver earned his IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car career-first feature win Saturday at Keller Auto Speedway. Brendan Warmerdam topped the opening night Van De Pol Western RaceSaver Sprint Series 25-lapper, starting fourth and catching Kyle Rasmussen for the runner-up spot after a long low line run in third. KENNEDALE, Texas (Feb. 22) – Derek Green got another win while Westin Abbey got a tour championship and a big check Saturday night at Kennedale Speedway Park. Green, from Granada, Minn., prevailed in a $1,000 to win Sniper Speed Lone Star Tour finale that saw him trade the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car lead with Ryan Powers three times in the final laps before beating Jesse Sobbing to the finish line.
