Winebarger wows Cottage Grove crowd

(Aug. 14, 2024) – Collen Winebarger brought a thrilling finish to the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event, to win on the last lap in the latest round of the Midweek Mayhem Series at Cottage Grove Speedway. The outside pole starter seized the initial race lead in the 25-lap finale but that reign was short-lived as reigning track champion Jake Mayden powered around him the next time around the 1/4-mile clay oval. When things slowed down due to a caution, things heated right back up on the restart as Winebarger was back into the trailblazing role and scored the leader on lap 12. Late restart opens door for Schmuhl at Angell Park

(Aug. 11, 2024)—Taking advantage of a late-race restart, Jeff Schmuhl topped the $1,000 to win King of the Park feature for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds at Angell Park Speedway. It was the second-ever visit for the division to visit “The Prairie” and the win made Schmuhl eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Trent Wyssbrod had set the early pace, mastering the bottom of the racetrack and then pulling away from the pack for the majority of the 20-lap main event. Despite being slowed down by three cautions, he continued to outpace his challengers on the restarts. However, the final restart would spice things up considerably. Manufacturers’ Row expands for 42nd IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 15, 2024) – Drivers and race team members can look forward to visiting a filled to capacity Manufacturers’ Row at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Thirty-five vendors will have booths on Manufacturers’ Row, to be located just northeast of the corner of the Boone Speedway grounds, throughout the week of Super Nationals Sept. 2-7. Avila sails to $10,000 checkers at 141’s Captain of the Creek

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (Aug. 14, 2024) – Starting from the pole was easy. Staying on the front not so much. Matt Avila tamed a top-flight field of Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, racing to the $10,000 checkers in winning Wednesday’s 50-lap Captain of the Creek main event at 141 Speedway. “It’s huge. (Aug. 11, 2024) – Considering how close their battle for the track championship was, it was no surprise when Brennor Grinstead and Kyler Satran were separated by just seven thousandths of a second apart at the finish of Sunday’s IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature at Nodak Speedway. The Grinstead brothers, Brennor and Tyson, engaged in a fierce battle at the start, Brennor emerging as the leader to pace the first lap. Satran threw his hat in the ring when he took over second on the fourth circuit and the next time around was pressuring Brennor Grinstead for the top spot. Finding an advantage on the inside line, Satran powered his way ahead to become the new trailblazer on lap six. Things slowed down twice with two late-race cautions, including the last one setting up a green, white, checkered finish. Daae does it at Estevan Stock Car special

By Ben Deatherage ESTEVAN, Sask. (Aug. 10, 2024) – Austin Daae had himself quite a night at Estevan Motor Speedway’s $1,000 to win IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, presented by The Floor Store, special. The hometown hotshoe motored to his fifth win of the season, fourth of 2024 at Estevan and became B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible as well with the Saturday checkers. Daae and Mike Hagen battled for the early lead in the 20-lpper. Daae, starting from the inside pole, quickly gained momentum while Hagen focused on keeping Troy Heupel at bay. As the race developed and stayed green, Hagen reeled in Daae while still holding off Heupel. Hagen put up a formal but unsuccessful challenge for the lead around midway. Chase Davidson launched a challenge of his own, contesting Heupel for third. His persistence paid off when he finally got around on lap 14. Meanwhile, Daae pulled away to secure the win. No sleeping in for Stuart after Batesville win

BENTON, Ark. (Aug. 10, 2024) – The smile in victory lane belonged to Dustin Stuart. The smile the next morning belonged to his daughter Scarlette. Stuart won Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at Batesville Motor Speedway, his first sanctioned checkers since 2021. Alley tops RaceSaver Sprints in return to Eagle

Alley decided to step away from the sport he loved and just came back to Eagle last week, finishing 11th in the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car ‘B’ feature. Saturday night proved to be his triumphant return as Alley led every lap in winning the Work Hard, Play Hard Night main event, beating Stu Snyder, Gene Ackland and Jason Danley to the stripe in a green, white, checkered finish. “It’s a tough deal out here, racing against the cars at Eagle Raceway. Points, Kennerly collect Cottage Grove checkers

(Aug. 10, 2024) – Checkers flew Saturday for Trevor Points and Michael Kennerly following their respective IMCA feature wins on Wallbanger Cup Night at Cottage Grove Speedway. Don Moore began the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event as the race leader. Shortly after securing the lead, Todd Shandy put him under fire, coming to challenge and make a pass underneath Moore to become the new leader on lap three. Shandy took off, but before he could get too far ahead, a caution came out with six complete. Dalton Bloom powered his way into second on the restart. He tried to reel in the leader but experienced a severe tire rub that flattened his right rear tire, resulting in another yellow on lap nine. Jordan Henry inherited the position. Henry was under a heavy barrage when the field returned to speed from Points. Points finally got into second on the 14th circuit, just before the final caution came out. Foulger is double winner at Merced’s Central California Clash show

By Ben Deatherage MERCED, Calif. (Aug. 10, 2024) – Troy Foulger celebrated his first win this season at Merced Speedway with fireworks. The Oakley flyer celebrated twice when he returned to the Central Valley oval Saturday night for the latest installment of the Central California Clash. Foulger, first to the checkers in the July 3 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified headliner at Merced, topped both the Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car features at Merced. The Modified feature paid $1,000 to win with Foulger already Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible. Jason Bannister was the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod victor. Cody Burke led the Modified pack in the early stages, challenged around the sixth lap by Foulger, who got around for the lead on the next circuit, with the lap scored complete just before what proved to be the only caution of the contest came out.
