Strickler scores IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour honors at Hancock County

BRITT, Iowa (June 30) – Hancock County Speedway saluted veterans with a pre-Independence Day special event and the fans in the full grandstands saluted Kyle Strickler when the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature was complete. Strickler led the last 23 of 30 laps in Tuesday’s IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour main event. The win paid $3,300 plus a $500 bonus for leading the race at halfway. Kyle Brown ran in front the first seven circuits and finished a distant second, but still moved into the top spot in the series point standings. Arizona traveler Ricky Thornton Jr. qualified from his “B” feature and ended third in the main event. Ronn Lauritzen and Jimmy Gustin completed the top five. IMCA North Star Touring Series finale is Friday at Fairmont

FAIRMONT, Minn. – Five champions will be crowned when the IMCA North Star Touring Series visits Fairmont Raceway for its Friday, July 3 finale. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts all see tour action for the sixth and final time this season. Pit gates and the grandstand open at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. with racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and free for students ages 18 and under. Pit passes are $25. Through the first five North Star events, the Modifieds, Northern SportMods and Hobby Stocks have yet to see a repeat winner. Luke Sathoff won the last two Stock Car features. Stock checkers fly at I-35 for Willier

By Greg Grabianowski MASON CITY, Iowa (June 28) – Joe Willier has been close for the past four starts at the I-35 Speedway and finally got his first feature win of the season on Sunday. Willier had finished in the top four three times his last four starts before piloting his number 96 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car rig into the winner’s circle by using the low. Travis Shipman took second with Kevin Opheim third. Tim Ward made a late pass of Ethan Dotson, then held off a fast-closing Kelly Shryock for the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified victory. Larson is best in Modified main at Britt

By Greg Grabianowski BRITT, Iowa (June 27) – Adam Larson won the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature to highlight a big night of racing Saturday at Hancock County Speedway. Larson rocketed from the 11th starting spot to the front of the 19-car field for his first local feature win of the year. Dustin Smith finished second with Jesse Hoeft third. Ned Kalis won his second Hancock County IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature of the season after starting ninth. Chad Palmer was the runner-up, followed by David Smith. George Nordman bested the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod field at Britt for the third time in 2015. Greg Sidles took second with Nick Meyer third. Weston Koop earned his first IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock win of the year, coming from the outside of row four to get the job done. Cory Gansen finished second followed by Cody Nielsen. Jacob Kofoot took the Mach-1 Sport Compact checkers ahead of Devin Jones and Kaytee DeVries.

Czarapata cashes in again

By Scott Owen SHAWANO, Wis. (June 27) – Jason Czarapata’s rich weekend continued with the $1,000 Saturday checkers at Shawano Speedway. Brian Joski started outside row one of the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature and put his machine in the lead on lap one with polesitter Jimmy Bartelt Sr. right behind. A lap four caution slowed the paced and bunched the field back up. Eddie Muenster raced around Bartelt to move to second on lap five and went to work trying to reel in Joski. By lap 10, Czarapata had raced to third and on lap 11 he used the inside line to pass Joski for the lead. Mechanical woes for Muenster on lap 12 brought out a caution and forced him to the pits. Schneiders motors to Modified win at Raceway Park

By Bob Coney JEFFERSON, S.D. (June 28) – Sunday’s Total Motors IMCA Modified feature at Raceway Park was led flag to flag by Jason Schneiders. Schneiders’ mid-season championship night win came over point leader Ricky Stephan and defending champion Chris Abelson. Defending champion Jason Ward picked up his first win of the season in the Casey’s General Stores IMCA Stock Cars. Ward had the inside line under his control and led Todd Gereau and Chris Mills to the checkers. The win also put Ward atop the point standings for the first time this season. The Skyline Casino IMCA Northern SportMods were dominated at the front by Karl Brewer, who led new point leader Todd Boulware and Rusty Montagne across the line. Strickler scores at Seymour

SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 28) – North Carolina visitor Kyle Strickler raced to his first Seymour Speedway Budweiser IMCA Modified feature win Sunday night. Rooke Konnor Wilinski opened a lead on the field by midway of what would be a non-stop race. Chad Bartel was still in the runner up spot with Strickler moving up from 10th to third. Strickler closed in on the leader, was able to work by into the top spot on lap 15 and pulled away over the final laps to record his first-ever Seymour Speedway win. Wilinski ran to his best finish of the season, taking second. Bartel was third. Chas Van Ooyen powered by for the lead on lap three and stayed in front to the finish of the Coors Light IMCA Stock Car main event. Cody Schroeder and Kevin Bethke were scored in first before Lucas Lamberies took over the top spot on lap 18 and held on to capture his fourth local Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod victory of the season.

$1,000 to win IMCA Modified feature at 34 Raceway on The Fourth

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa – Top prize for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds is $1,000 this Saturday, July 4 at 34 Raceway. Roberts Tire Center makes the payout possible. The holiday show is a qualifying event for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Also on the card for Young House Family Services Night are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, as well as 305 sprint cars, midgets and 4-cylinders. Fireworks follow the race program. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. with racing to follow. Coon aces Arlington Modified main

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 27) –Saturday’s MN 93 IMCA Modified feature saw Jeff Coon take over the lead on lap eight and pick up his first trophy this year in green to checkered fashion Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Dan Menk started ninth and finished second with Nick Helmbrecht taking third. Brent Uecker was victorious in the B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car feature, picking up his first win of the season. Uecker got around Dave Moriarty and remained the leader ahead of Jeff McCollum and Dan Mackenthun. Brett Allen hold onto the lead throughout multiple restarts to pick up his first 95.7 The Rock IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car checkers.
