48th Annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic Set for August 28–29 at 300 Raceway

By Ben Deatherage FARLEY, Iowa (Aug. 13, 2025) — The 48th annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic, presented by GTG Peterbilt – Cedar Rapids, takes the green Thursday and Friday, August 28–29, at 300 Raceway. Two big nights of racing will showcase some of the region’s best, with large payouts on the line and music after the races both nights. Thursday’s program includes $1,200 to win and $150 to start for the Friesen Performance IMCA Late Models, $1,000 to win and $100 to start for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, $1,000 to win and $100 to start for the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, $500 to win and $75 to start for the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, and $300 to win and $40 to start for the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks. Katelynn Robertson: Krazy Kate’s Road to Super Nationals

By Ben Deatherage RENO, Nev. (Aug. 15, 2025) — One year ago, Katelynn Robertson stood in the grandstands at Boone Speedway, taking in her first IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. She wasn’t there to race — she was a wide-eyed spectator. “My jaw dropped as soon as I walked through the gates while racing was going on,” she remembered. “I was amazed by how great it is and how big it is. It’s definitely one of the coolest things I’ve been to.” This September, Robertson returns to Boone not to watch, but to compete. Williamson Unstoppable in Modified Midweek Mayhem at Cottage Grove

(Aug. 13, 2025) — Jesse Williamson dominated Wednesday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified 25-lap feature at Cottage Grove Speedway, scoring his second Shaw Race Cars Western Region victory of 2025. Both wins have come at CGS for the Coburg driver, a multi-time IMCA Wild West Speedweek champion and pilot of the SDMF Customs no. W5 house car. Williamson jumped to the lead at the drop of the green and dealt with slower traffic as early as lap eight. The lone caution waved on lap nine, setting up a slider attempt from defending series and five-time reigning track champion Jake Mayden going into turn one. Beast of the East Showdown Brings Four Nights of Mod Lite Action to New York Tracks August 15–18

The action begins Friday, August 15 at Brewerton Speedway, continues Saturday, August 16 at Fulton Speedway, then heads to Weedsport Speedway on Sunday, August 17, before wrapping up back at Brewerton on Monday, August 18. Each night offers a $1,500-to-win main event. The first three nights will award National and New York State points, with timed hot laps setting the stage for heat races and the heat race finishes determining the lineup for the features. Murty Muscles Past Carter for Stock Car Thriller

By Kaden Krebs MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Aug. 8, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event at Marshalltown Speedway was the showstopper of the night, going 20 hard-fought laps. Ethan Atcheson and Dillon Solum brought the field to green, with Solum pacing the opening lap before a quick caution with 19 to go. Solum, Brayton Carter, and Dallon Murty staged an early three-way fight for the top spot until another yellow at lap 16 bunched them again. Carter pounced on the restart, taking the lead with 15 to go, but Murty stayed in striking distance. After a final caution with five laps left, Murty and Carter pulled away from the pack, with David Brandiss and Jimmy Gustin joining the scrap in the closing laps. The Southern SportMod-exclusive event, in its fourth year at KSP, has become a premier destination for top-tier talent in the division from across the region. (Aug. 13, 2025) — Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway will celebrate “The Race Doctor” with the 10th annual Mike Moshier Classic on Saturday, August 16. The night’s dirt track action will also serve as the 2025 championship night for all three Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing divisions, with the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, and Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars in competition. Baca led the first three laps around the Algona oval before Jeremy Mills powered into the lead on lap four. Once out front, Mills built a commanding advantage and never looked back, collecting his fourth feature win of the season at Algona and a $2,000 payday.
