AERO complements IMCA feature win decals with special event, state champions awards

ESTHERVILLE, Iowa – AERO Race Wheels complements its highly visible feature win decal program with awards for IMCA special events competitors and state champions again this season. The Estherville, Iowa, manufacturer and 23-year sponsor gives $40 product certificates, good toward the purchase of two wheels, to designated place finishers at 80 special events for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods. Sunset Speedway Park readies for April 20 Discount Days opener

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. – After last week’s disappointing rainout things are looking to finally get underway on Saturday, April 20, at Sunset Speedway Park. The Banks Bullring has a full card of racing and will feature a special admission price with $5 for one general admission ticket or $8 for two. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods will be featured regularly at SSP after only hosting a couple of races last year and will crown a champion for the first time since 2017. Drivers and fans are encouraged to check the track website/Facebook page for weather updates. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and front gates open at 4 p.m., with racing kicking off at 6 p.m. A family pass (two adults and up to four youth) is offered for $35 while premium seats are available for $25 each. Ice Breaker Challenge entries top 270

EAGLE, Neb. – Entries for the weekend’s Ice Breaker Challenge presented by Auto Trans Matic at Eagle Raceway now number more than 270. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win on Friday, April 19 and for $2,000 to win on Saturday, April 20. Both events are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers. IMCA Modifieds on lidlifter at Cottage Grove

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – Cottage Grove Speedway gets the new race season started on Saturday, April 20 with and has a special Easter Eggstavaganza (featuring over 2,000 eggs and an appearance by the Easter Bunny at intermission) planned during the night. IMCA Modifieds are on the evening card. Pit gates open at 1 p.m., the front gate opens at 3:30 p.m., time trials are at 5:30 p.m. and racing is scheduled to kick off at approximately 6 p.m. Tickets are $13 for adults, seniors, juniors and military are $10, youth ages 6-12 are $5 and children five and under are free. A family pass (two adults and up to four youth) sells for $35. VIP skybox seating is $25 and pit passes are $30.

Saturday opener for Crystal

CRYSTAL, Mich. – Crystal Motor Speedway starts the 2019 season this Saturday, April 20. IMCA Modifieds return to the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing program. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. Grandstand admission for adults is $12 and $5 for kids ages 5-11, and pit passes are $30. Waterman lands Lee County Speedway opening night win

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (April 12) – Jeff Waterman began his pursuit of another Lee County Speedway track title with the opening night IMCA Modified feature victory. Friday’s 20-lap Budweiser IMCA Modified main saw Dennis LaVeine and Dakota Simmons draw the front row. LaVeine took advantage of his spot to jump out into the lead over Andrew Schroeder and Simmons. Schroeder looked under LaVeine over the next five laps, before the first caution of the race appeared. On the restart, LaVeine jumped back out front with Waterman, who started ninth, coming from fifth to second. While LaVeine worked the bottom of the track, Waterman used the top to try and wrestle the lead away. Coming off turn four on lap nine, Waterman used his momentum off the top to edge LaVeine at the line to take over the top spot. Duke prevails at Path Valley for third straight PASS win

SPRING RUN, Pa. (April 13) – Ken Duke Jr. preserved his 2019 Pennsylvania Sprint Series winning streak Saturday night, winning the 20-lap feature race at Path Valley Speedway more than four tenth’s of a second over Doug Dodson. The Selinsgrove racer has now captured all three IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car features run so far, but this was hardly an easy win. With 21 of the 22 sprinters on hand making the call for the feature, traffic was an incessant issue on the wide Path Valley quarter mile. Mike Alleman grabbed the early lead but just as the leaders were moving into heavy traffic, a lap seven caution bunched the field. On the restart, Duke, who had moved from sixth starting position into third, shot to the front. Side Biter Chassis starts third season as sponsor for IMCA’s North Central Region

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – Drivers in IMCA’s North Central Region for Modifieds enjoy the support of Side Biter Chassis for a third consecutive season. The Clear Lake, Iowa, chassis builder returns as title sponsor of the region encompassing tracks in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, Saskatchewan, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
