Springfield quick to resume racing Saturday night

By Ronnie Williams SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Quick-Quarter of the Springfield Raceway will be back in action Saturday night, Sept. 14 after taking off last weekend for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The tight IMCA Modified point battle between James Thompson and Jody Tillman will resume. On Saturday, Sept. 21 during the Under The Lights Special Tribute race to the Ozarks Legends, the Bad Boy Mowers IMCA Modifieds will be racing for a $500 to win and $100 to start feature Look for three-wide action as the Quick Quarter never seems to disappoint especially in IMCA Modified action every Saturday Night.

Big Sky Landscaping IMCA Stock Car Series ventures to Sunset

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. – The Big Sky Landscaping IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Series heads to Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday, Sept. 14. It is the final time the group will pay a visit to the historic ¼-mile Banks Bullring. The tour already has been to SSP on four occasions. In four visits there have been three different winners at Sunset. Kevin Roberts is the only driver to have bested the competition twice while Jerry Schram and Donald Schott are both one-time winners. Brian Cronk has been a man on a mission as he has won three of the last four series features. With the track championship on the line, there is an incredible battle to be waged. Harris Clash returns to Deer Creek Speedway in 2020

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. – After a near record-breaking attendance to the 2019 Harris Clash, the 2020 Harris Clash date has been announced. The event will return to Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., for a third time on Aug. 4. This will be the 29th running of the event. Bob Harris, promoter of the Harris Clash, is looking forward to what the new year will bring. “We are thrilled to be returning to Deer Creek Speedway once again for the Harris Clash. Marshalltown postpones World Nationals

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Rain Wednesday plus rain Thursday equals no racing this weekend in Marshalltown. The $10,000 to win World Nationals special for IMCA Modifieds has been postponed, due to wet grounds and the resulting lack of time to get the track ready, to Oct. 24-26. The 13th annual event is a qualifying feature for the 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both race for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win during Friday and Saturday, Oct. 25 and 26 programs. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Racing starts at 7 p.m. both nights. Friday spectator admission is $15 for adults and $12 for seniors. Soderberg Memorial Championship is Saturday at Dodge City

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – Another rousing season of championship points chase action is nearly in the books at the state-of-the-art 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval in southwest Kansas. After kicking off the 2019 chase in early April, the point season comes to a conclusion with Saturday night’s seventh Annual Jerry Soderberg Memorial Championship event. The Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars will square off with the United Rebel Sprint Series for the final time of the year with the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks finishing off the 2019 point chases as well. PASS visits The Groves this weekend

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – After running for the final time in 2019 on their smallest bullring, Pennsylvania Sprint Series teams move to two of their largest venues Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway and Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway. Features for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars both nights will be 20 laps. This will be the only PASS feature this season at Williams Grove. Rain washed out an event scheduled in the spring. Veteran Scott Ellerman of Landisburg is the only former PASS winner at Williams Grove pre-entered, but about 30 other drivers will be trying to join him on that winners’ list. Adult admission is $18 with $10 for youth. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, gates will open at 4 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. This is the final of four appearances for PASS at Selinsgrove. Great car gets Grossenbacher Sprint Series of Nebraska win

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (Sept. 8) – Trevor Grossenbacher parked a great car in victory lane Sunday night, following the finale of the Precise Racing Sprint Series of Nebraska at Eagle Raceway. Grossenbacher’s $700 Nebraska Cup checkers came ahead of Jake Bubak and Jason Martin. “It was a lot of fun tonight. Rick Forbes is the car owner and it took all year long to finally get a win for him,” said Grossenbacher, runner-up at RaceSaver Nationals the previous week, “The feature was awesome. It was close at the end with lapped traffic but we had a great car.” Kaleb Johnson led lap one with Grossenbacher, Mike Boston and Chad Koch rounding out the top four. Koch passed Boston for third on lap two and Joey Danley got by Boston for fourth on the next lap. Danley moved up to third 2 laps later. Championship Night is Saturday at Bethany

By Rick Staley BETHANY, Mo. – This Saturday night, Sept. 14, the stars of Bethany Speedway will battle to the checkers for prestigious track championships in all divisions. IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod champions will be crowned. Gates open at 5 p.m., the drivers’ meeting is at 6:45 p.m., hot laps are at 7:30 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. Pit passes are $35 and grandstand admission is $10 for adults while kids six years of age and under free.

Bard prevails in PASS feature at Path Valley

By Frank Buhrman SPRING RUN, Pa. (Sept. 7) – Wells Tannery is an unincorporated community in Fulton County, Pa., with a nice community park. It’s also home to race driver Garrett Bard and if Bard’s fortunes continue on their current upward curve, he may become the first thing you’ll know about Wells Tannery. The 23-year-old scored his second victory in a two-month career in the Pennsylvania Sprint Series Saturday night at Path Valley Speedway. It was his third IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win, with the other having come the previous weekend in a Laurel Highlands Sprint Series race at Bedford Speedway. Bard started on the pole and led all the way for a convincing win but John Walp didn’t make it easy, challenging after a lap 14 caution. On the restart, Walp tried Bard on the inside but to no avail.
