IMCA is PRI-bound Dec. 8-10

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – IMCA will be well represented at the biggest event of the 2016 trade show circuit. The 29th annual Performance Racing Industry trade show will be held Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 8-10 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. “PRI is the racing industry’s version of the Super Bowl,” explained IMCA President Brett Root. “It’s an excellent opportunity for us to meet with current and prospective promoters and marketing partners as well as drivers from across the country.” Copies of 2017 rules will be available at the IMCA booth (no. 3709), adjacent to the Speedway Motors booths. In addition to Root, IMCA representatives in attendance will include Vice President of Operations Jim Stannard, Competition Director Tom Gutowski, Marketing Director Kevin Yoder and French Grimes on behalf of RaceSaver.

Texas Motorsport Expo in IMCA travel plans

MESQUITE, Texas – The Texas Motorsport Expo and Auction will be held Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Mesquite Convention Center. Attending from IMCA will be Vice President of Operations Jim Stannard and Director of Division Development Dave Brenn. They’ll have copies of 2017 rules available to drivers. The doors open at 8 a.m. and the aucton starts at 9 a.m.

Western States Promoter Conference set in Reno

RENO, Nev. – The Eldorado Hotel and Casino in Reno will be the site of the Dec. 1 and 2 Western States Promoters Conference, organized by Ocean Speedway promoter John Prentice. “This conference will focus on scheduling and networking,” said IMCA President Brett Root, who will be in attendance both days. “I anticipate it will be similar to the RPM workshop in terms of meeting subjects.”

RPM workshops scheduled in Las Vegas, Indy, Daytona Beach

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – IMCA officials will meet with promoters and other automotive racing industry leaders at upcoming RPM workshops planned in Las Vegas, Indianapolis and Daytona Beach. Sessions at each are geared toward race track operations, i.e. promotional events, insurance and legal aspects. RPM promoters of the year will also be announced during the Daytona Beach session next February. IMCA President Brett Root and Vice President of Operations Jim Stannard will attend the Nov. 14-15 workshop at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and Dec. 9 workshop at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Media Center. The Feb. 14-15 workshop will be held at the Hilton Daytona Beach Ocean Walk Village.

October Fest this weekend at Outlaw Motor Speedway 

MUSKOGEE, Okla. – Outlaw Motor Speedway has a pre-Halloween treat for drivers in three IMCA divisions with the October Fest special scheduled for Oct. 27-29. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds run for $2,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $1,000 to win, IMCA SportMods for $750 to win. An open practice runs from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27. Pit passes are $15. Gates open at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, when heats and qualifying features are on the card. Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing gets underway at 5:30 p.m. for the Saturday program featuring last-chance races and the main events. Winter Nationals this weekend at Longdale Speedway

By Shawn Miller LONGDALE, Okla. – The Winter Nationals is developing into a strong event that helps close each season at Longdale Speedway. The third edition of the marquee event is set for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15-16 and will feature three IMCA sanctioned divisions. The first night will be the standard purse for each class with the Oct. 16 event paying $1,000 to win and $200 to start for both the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and IMCA SportMods and $800 to win and $100 to start for the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Sunday’s feature for the Modifieds is a 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event. Stock Car Stampede at Jamestown boasts $2,000 IMCA Modified top prize

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Oct. 10) – Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds chase a $2,000 top check at Jame­stown Speedway’s Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14-15 Stock Car Stampede. The Stampede is a qualifying event for the 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. The run­ner-up earns $1,500 with $1,000 paid for third; drivers taking the main event green earn a mini­mum of $300. Heat races begin at 7 p.m. on Friday with “B” features preceding Saturday’s main event. Abilene Speedway hosts Oct. 14-15 Southern Challenge

ABILENE, Texas – Abilene Speedway rolls out the red carpet for four IMCA divisions at its 22nd annual Ryan Bard Memorial Southern Challenge special Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14-15. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds race for $2,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods both for $1,700 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $650 to win. Budweiser Nationals boasts Oct. 7, 8 $1,500 to win IMCA Modified features at Bakersfield 

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Oct. 4) – A pair of $1,500 to win features for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds are on tap at Bakersfield Speedway’s 31st annual Budweiser Nationals this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7 and 8. Both 40-lap features are 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events and pay a minimum of $100 to start. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods begin qualifying on Friday. KIRKWOOD, N.Y. (Oct. 4) – The Atomicwraps.com IMCA Empire State Series sees its final checkers of 2016 when the tour for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds travels to Five Mile Point Speedway for an Oct. 8 show. Saturday’s 20-lap main event pays $450 to win and a minimum of $100 to start.
