NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series kicking off with Sean Lias Memorial

By Evan Canfield  SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. – After a long off-season and months of planning, the newly-formed NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series is ready to set sail on the 2021 season. With a full schedule set to see eight events at five different tracks, drivers are eager to begin the inaugural season of the series. With nearly 30 cars registered for the year, large car counts and great racing are on the horizon for a big year. Kicking off this year’s campaign will be one of the biggest races of the season, the Sean Lias Memorial at Susquehanna, Pa.’s Penn Can Speedway slated for May 30. This event will pay homage to one of Pennsylvania’s own who was a multi-time champion across tracks and the Northeast region under the IMCA sanction in the 1990’s and 2000’s, scoring 231 feature wins in his career. IMCA drivers take $1,000 to the bank at 34’s Done Right TV Night on May 29

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa – Race fan can tune in on May 29 to see drivers in four IMCA divisions race for $1,000 top checks on Done Right TV Night at 34 Raceway. Added money from Bank makes Saturday features for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Late Models, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods all $1,000 to win. The Modified feature is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier and the Stock Car feature a B & B Chassis All-Star qualifier. Minimum start money in all divisions is $100. Pit passes are $25 and a track registration fee of $15 applies. Spectator admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students, and free for kids ages 10 and under when accompanying a paid adult.  Gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. The draw closes and the drivers’ meeting starts at 6 p.m., with hot laps at 6:15 p.m. and racing to follow.

Oklahoma, Texas dates set for IMCA Allstar Shootout

ARDMORE, Okla. – Five nights of racing leading up to Memorial Day will prove memorable for Allstar drivers in three IMCA divisions. The inaugural Allstar Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts features IMCA Modifieds running for $1,000 to win, potential bonuses of $500 to as much as $3,000 and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berths May 26-30. Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars both run for $750 to win each night. Thunderbird hosts May 22, 29 All-Star ballot qualifiers

MUSKEGON, Mich. – After last weekend’s rainout, IMCA Modifieds will race for $1,000 to win in Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying features each of the next two Saturdays at Thunderbird Raceway.  Deb’s Café sponsors the May 22 show at Muskegon. The May 29 Salute to Veterans program is presented b y Quarter Master Racing Clutches and Driveline Components. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,200 to win, All-Star ballot berth May 21 at Michigan’s I-96

LAKE ODESSA, Mich. – A $1,200 top prize and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth are at stake Friday, May 21 at I-96 Speedway.  The feature pays a minimum of $200 to start with IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region, KMJ Performance State and track points to be awarded at the draw/redraw show. There is no entry fee. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $5 for kids ages 6-11 and free for ages five and under. Selinsgrove hosts second PASS show of season on Saturday

By Frank Buhrman SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The historic and challenging Selinsgrove Speedway will hosts its second Pennsyl­vania Sprint Series appearance of 2021 this Saturday night, May 8.  New Yorker Justin Mills topped a field of 40 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars on April 10 when PASS made the first of eight scheduled stops at Selinsgrove this year. Mills is set to return Saturday, along with defend­ing national, series and track champion Garrett Bard. Bard was a three-time winner at the Snyder County oval in 2020.  Hometown favorite Ken Duke Jr., who finished second in Selinsgrove points last year but was the national, PASS and Selinsgrove champ in 2019, also is expected. Salina Highbanks to host Oil Capital IMCA RaceSaver Sprints on Saturday

(May 4, 2021) – After two rainouts the AmeriFlex /Oil Capital Racing Series IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars will resume points competition Saturday at Salina Highbanks Speedway.  Pit gates open at 3 p.m. Grandstand gates at 5. Drivers draw from 4:45-5:45 p.m. and the drivers’ meeting is at 6 p.m.. Hot are at laps 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. Feature winners through the first five series events of the season include Johnny Kent, Joe Bob Lee, Noah Harris, Alex Sewell and Steven Shebester.

Park Jefferson hosts Ted Carlson Memorial this Saturday

JEFFERSON, S.D. – On Saturday, May 8, Park Jefferson International Speedway celebrates the life of Speedway founder Ted Carlson. Carlson was instrumental in turning Park Jefferson into an auto racing facility back in 1986 along with a team of others. In honor of his passing, Park Jefferson invites all to celebrate the Ted Carlson Memorial race sponsored by Zeitner and Sons. IMCA Modifieds, J&J Fitting IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Z98 Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods are on the card and every division’s winner will receive a special payout ending in 86 in honor of the year 1986 when Park Jefferson began racing automobiles. IMCA Modified winner reels in $1,000 at Casper special

CASPER, Wy. – The IMCA Modified driver taking the Friday, May 7 main event win at Casper Speedway lands a $1,000 check and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth. The Chuck’s Bait Night special pays a minimum of $50 to start and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Shaw Race Cars Western Region, KMJ Perfor­mance Wyoming State and track points will be given. Marshalltown Speedway primed for May 6 Dale DeFrance Memorial

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Marshalltown Speedway rolls out the red carpet for six IMCA divisions at its Thursday, May 6 Dale DeFrance Memorial.  More than $10,000 in cash, plus product and product certificate awards have already been added to the pursed for the fourth annual event, headlined by IMCA Sunoco Late Models in a minimum $1,500 to win feature.  IMCA Modifieds run for a minimum of $1,000 to win along with a spot on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both run for a minimum of $500 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for a minimum of $300 and IMCA STARS Mod Lites for a minimum of $250.
