IMCA anniversary wins at Boone go to Berry, Anderson

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (May 25, 2024) – It was a great night of racing at the Boone Speedway Saturday. There were 172 cars checked in for the Memorial Day Holiday weekend event that included extra money on the line for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, celebrating their 45th anniversary and the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, celebrating 19 years of racing. It was also a Stealth Racing Corn Belt Clash race for the IMCA STARS Mod Lites. It was Tom Berry Jr. taking top honors in the IMCA Modifieds, in an exciting race for the fans that witnessed a “slide fest.” Austin Bouzek got his first win at the track when he took the checkers in the IMCA Sunoco Stock car “A” main. Mills, Jerovetz, Fett, Krug are victors at Britt

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (May 24, 2024) – Though the area was water-logged, Hancock County Speedway roared to life Friday night with great racing action sponsored by Toot’s Trucking and Pritchard Family Auto Stores. In the Stars, Stripes and Sirens special, three first-time IMCA winners at the track in 2024 graced victory lane. Jeremy Mills used the top side of the track to score his first win at the speedway this season in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds. He fended off a couple strong charges by second place finisher Tim Ward who was making time on the inside through turns one and two. Already Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible, Mills banked $1,000 for his career 137th win in the class. CPT Racing Manufacturing renews IMCA awards with expansion plans in near future

(May 18, 2024) – Yreka Speedway capped off its doubleheader weekend with Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods filling the Saturday night card and put on some incredible racing. The Northern SportMods witnessed a nail-biting main event. Gabriel Chavez engaged in a fierce battle for the lead with Austin Petray and hometown hero Bo Crebs right from the start before Petray and Crebs tangled and were forced to retire early. Back to green, Chavez was under heavy fire from Steven Sanders, who beat him at the line in a mad dash for first place to pace the field for the second circuit. The pass, however, was negated due to another caution. On the subsequent restart, Sanders maneuvered around Chavez to take the lead on the officially completed second lap. County fair checkers are IMCA first for Connelly

(May 18, 2024) – Antioch Speedway fans were treated to two nights of racing during the annual Contra Costa County Fair with Saturday offered a trio of exciting IMCA sanctioned races. This included the first win for Dylan Connelly in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event, Kellen Chadwick in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Travis Dutra in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Connelly had come close on multiple occasions during the previous two IMCA SportMod seasons. On Saturday, he refused to let any of the yellow flag situations cost him a well-earned win. Connelly took the lead from Kelly Campanile with a turn four pass on the second lap. Jason Ryan Jr. quickly settled into second. Towns dominates in IMCA Modified triumph at Cottage Grove

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (May 18, 2024) – Cottage Grove Speedway was abuzz with excitement on Saturday, May 18 for Armed Forces Night, a special event presented by Shriner’s. When the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds took to the track for their finale, Curtis Towns made the most of his front row starting position. Known for his quick starts, Towns shot off like a cannon and stayed in control despite an early caution. An early caution slowed things down but couldn’t dampen the intense competition. Defending Oregon State champion Carter Patterson pushed hard to overtake Towns couldn’t quite find a way to the front and the leader continued to pull away. This intensified the second-place race as Jake Mayden battled hard with Patterson. Mayden eventually obtained the runner-up spot and then began to chase down Towns despite a big gap separating the two. Davenport Speedway beefs up IMCA Modified payday this Friday

DAVENPORT, Iowa (May 21, 2024) – Scott County Cattlemen will do the grilling and Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers will do the racing for $1,000 to win this Friday night at Davenport Speedway. The cattlemen’s association sponsors the May 24 race program, which sees SLMR Super Late Models on the holiday weekend card along with the Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. Purse for the Modified main event tops $9,000. The winner also becomes eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational while the runner-up earns $800, 10th place pays $400 and taking the green flag is good for $100. Tow money is $75. Modifieds are draw/redraw and their entry fee is $30.
