IMCA rookies, special events drivers in running for Dynamic Drivelines awards

DES MOINES, Iowa (May 20, 2023) – Dynamic Drivelines delivers awards to IMCA national rookies of the year and special events competitors for an eighth consecutive season in 2023. Top rookies in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Late Model, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern divisions all receive drive shafts from the Des Moines, Iowa, manufacturer. Schwartz wires IMCA Northern SportMod field at Stevens Memorial

By Josh Reynolds Stuart, Iowa (May 17, 2023) – Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway saw some great racing action Wednesday evening as it played host for the Tim and Tammy Stevens Memorial. IMCA feature winners were Kolby Sabin, Buck Schafroth, Luke Ramsey, David Schwartz and Todd Shute. Mitchell Bunch and Craig Furstenau led the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts to the green flag with Bunch and Terry Bickford showing the way early on. Bickford snagged the lead for a few laps before a lap nine caution slowed the pack. Anthony Clark used the middle of the track to get the lead on lap 11 just as the last caution of the race flew, setting up a three-lap dash to the finish. Clark looked strong as he led on the white flag lap, but Sabin muscled under him cleanly and stole the lead and the win out of turn four. Clay County’s IMCA Stock Car special is a guaranteed Classic

SPENCER, Iowa (May 17, 2023) – An IMCA Sunoco Stock Car special that’s guaranteed to be a Classic is coming up May 21-22 at Clay County Fair Speedway. Stock Cars run for $5,000 to win and a starting spot in the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational at Spencer’s Master’s Manufacturing Clay County Classic, presented by Emmetsburg Collision, Sybesma Graphics and Midwest Land Management and broadcast by IMCA.TV. All Stock Cars will run two heats during Sunday qualifying, with 8-12 cars locking in depending on the number of entries. Heats and ‘B’ features will complete the starting grid on Monday with heat lineups determined by passing points from Sunday and any new entries starting at the back. Clash runner-up Ryan is first-time winner at Antioch

(May 13, 2023) – After finishing second in Central California Clash standings, Jason Ryan Jr. won his career-first Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature Saturday at Antioch Speedway. With the pole position start, Dylan Connolly set the early pace ahead of Jonathan Hagio. A yellow flag waved for a four-car crash in turn four. Connolly continued to lead the restart with Tommy Fraser and Ryan moving into second and third, respectively. Connolly did an impressive job of leading the way in his pursuit of a first-time win and maintained the point through two more yellow flags. On a lap 16 restart, Ryan started challenging Fraser for second before slipping past him on lap 17. Ryan turned up the heat on Connolly before finding his opening on the back stretch on Lap 17 to gain command. Ryan went on to victory from there ahead of Connolly, Fraser, Trevor Clymens and Kenny Shrader. From Oakley, Ryan had run third in the Clash opener at Antioch on May 3.

Opening night on tap May 21 at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (May 15, 2023) – After the season-opening special was washed out three consecutive weeks, officials at Benton County Speedway are hopeful the start of the IMCA weekly racing points season helps change Mother Nature’s tune this Sunday. Horn hauls to Drive For 5 feature win

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (May 12, 2023) – Wins in back-to-back starts at Lee County Speedway saw CJ Horn capture his first Iowa Corn Growers Association Drive For 5 IMCA Sunoco Late Model victory on Friday night. Horn and Jeff Guengerich drew the front row for the 25-lap feature, with Horn jumping out into the lead on lap one over Guengerich and Jeremy Pundt. While Horn started to pull away, Denny Woodworth, Dalton Simonsen, who started 8th, Jay Johnson, who started 9th, and Tommy Elston battled Guengerich and Pundt in the top seven. Despite heavy lapped traffic late in the race, Horn went on to claim his second win in a row at the track, with this one worth $1,000.
