Nielsen Survives Wild Hobby Stock Feature at Algona for First Win of 2026

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (May 21, 2026) — The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks stole the spotlight during another action-packed night at Kossuth County Speedway as Brandon Nielsen survived a caution-filled 28-car feature to earn his first B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season. The Hobby Stock feature required a complete restart after a multi-car pileup in turn one. Derrick Barglof paced the early laps before another caution flew on lap three when Brett Doege lost his nose cone. Spencer’s Nielsen powered into the lead one lap later and remained unfazed through caution flags on laps five, eight, nine, and 13 to secure the victory after starting 10th. Last week’s winner Nathan DaRagon finished second while Josh Sidles turned in one of the drives of the night, charging from 26th to third. Andersen Stuns Eagle Crowd with Last-Lap Modified Thriller

(May 23, 2026) — Eagle Raceway delivered another wild night of racing action on Saturday, highlighted by a dramatic Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature that saw Chad Andersen charge from 11th starting position to steal the victory on the final lap. The feature opened with chaos as a massive pileup erupted at the initial green flag when Sean Manning spun in turns one and two, collecting multiple cars. Once racing officially got underway, Shawn Harker paced the early laps ahead of Clint Homan, Jaxon Saathoff, and Riley Ruisinger. Saathoff moved into second on lap two while Andersen steadily carved his way through the field. Appelt Stays Perfect with Third Straight Nodak Hobby Stock Victory

(May 24, 2026) — The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks produced one of the most exciting races of the evening Sunday at Nodak Speedway as Minot’s Caden Appelt charged from 12th starting position to collect his third straight feature victory to open the season. Ethan Beckedal paced the early laps before Saskatchewan’s Diezel Raynard worked his way into the lead. After going off the track in the opening corner earlier in the feature, Appelt stormed back through the field using the high side to perfection. Goodwin Scores Emotional SportMod Victory at McLean County

(May 21, 2026) — The 2026 season opener at McLean County Speedway delivered an emotional night of racing on Thursday, highlighted by Tim Goodwin’s inspiring comeback victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods. Goodwin, from Williston, battled through adversity throughout the feature. While challenging for the lead late in the race, he slipped into the marbles but managed to recover and regain momentum before charging back to the front with five laps remaining. From there, he checked out on the field to score his first victory since a devastating Highway 83 accident outside of Underwood on May 29 of last year that nearly claimed his life. Wood Outduels Wauters in $1,000 Hobby Stock Thriller at CJ Speedway

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (May 22, 2026) — Friday night was another special evening of racing at CJ Speedway as the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks headlined the action with a boosted $1,000-to-win feature, treating fans to outstanding wheel-to-wheel racing on the perfectly prepared 4/10-mile dirt track at the Louisa County Fairgrounds. Daniel Wauters raced to the early lead from the outside front row and paced the field for most of the feature while constantly being pressured by Sigourney’s Brayden Wood, who charged forward from the eighth starting position. A late caution set up a thrilling dash to the finish. Wood got an excellent run through turns one and two as the leaders raced side by side down the backstretch. Tougher Than Dirt Tour Roars Back June 3-7 Across North Dakota and Saskatchewan

The 2026 tour schedule opens Wednesday, June 3 at McLean County Speedway in Underwood, North Dakota before heading west to Williston Basin Speedway on Thursday, June 4. Frederick Wins Wild Wednesday Hobby Stock Thriller at Buena Vista Raceway Opener

By Ryan Duggan ALTA, Iowa (May 20, 2026) — Justin Frederick emerged victorious in a dramatic Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature Wednesday night at Buena Vista Raceway after a thrilling late-race duel during the season opener. Chaos erupted on the initial start, quickly bringing out a caution flag before a lengthy green-flag stretch allowed the race to settle in. Will Smith and Drew Barglof battled early before Brandon Nielsen worked his way to the lead and controlled much of the feature. Trenchard Charges from 10th for Southern Oregon Modified Triumph

(May 16, 2026) — Brett Provost and Albert Gill Jr. led the field to green in the $1,000-to-win Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature Saturday night at Southern Oregon Speedway. Gill jumped out to the early lead and paced the opening five laps before Ethan Killingsworth took over the top spot with a slider in turn two. A caution one lap later for debris slowed the field, but Killingsworth quickly rebuilt his advantage on the restart. Behind him, an intense three-wide battle for second unfolded between Matt Sanders, Nick Trenchard, and Ryan Peery. Trenchard eventually worked past Sanders and Peery to move into the runner-up position. Killingsworth held a commanding lead until Hudson Shoemaker spun on the backstretch exiting turn two, bringing out another caution with 10 laps remaining. Oathout Opens Santa Maria’s IMCA SportMod Season with Dominant Victory

(May 16, 2026) — Santa Maria Speedway opened its gates Saturday night for another evening of racing action, including the first Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod event of the 2026 season at the facility. With strong family ties to Santa Maria Speedway, Bakersfield’s Sunnie Simkins picked up her first career SportMod heat race victory. Local favorite Matthew Frazier secured the second heat race win of the evening. With it being opening night for the division, the top 10 drivers after heat race competition redrew for the 20-lap feature event. Willy Oathout and Paul Brown led the field to green. Oathout, from San Luis Obispo, grabbed the lead at the drop of the green flag and never looked back on his way to his first victory of the season. Frazier finished second while Alyssa Smith crossed the line in third. Orion Messina charged from 12th to finish fourth while Rich Denman advanced from 10th to round out the top five.
