Cory Dumpert: Nebraska Champion Reaches 100th IMCA Late Model Victory

By Ben Deatherage NEWMAN GROVE, Neb. (July 24, 2025) — The names are few, the path grueling, the odds relentless. But Cory Dumpert, the quiet powerhouse from Nebraska, has etched his name alongside the elite in the Sunoco IMCA Late Model Century Club, becoming just the ninth driver to reach the 100-win mark in the division. It happened June 28 at Off Road Speedway in Norfolk, where he’s won the last three track championships, and the celebration was equal parts joy and relief. “I was really starting to think that the 100th one was going to be harder to win than the first,” Dumpert admitted. “Nothing seemed to go right and everyone kept bringing it up. It was getting to be a lot of pressure.” But pressure has a way of forging steel, and Dumpert, a six-time and reigning IMCA national champion, showed the grit that defines his career. Starting 10th on a racy, moisture-laden surface, the three-time defending Off Road track champion made his charge — bold, aggressive, and hell-bent. Cory Dumpert celebrates atop his [Read More]

Fajman Edges Brunssen in Photo Finish to Win Dave Riley Memorial At Park Jeff

By Ben Deatherage JEFFERSON, S.D. (July 20, 2025) — A stacked Sunday night card at Park Jefferson Speedway delivered high drama and thrilling finishes during the Dave Riley Memorial, highlighted by a green-white-checkered nailbiter in the $2,556-to-win Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature. The 28-lap Hobby Stock main event saw Albion, Nebraska’s Ryan Fajman steal the spotlight in dramatic fashion. Driving a special throwback tribute wrap honoring the late Dale Bittner, Fajman charged from seventh and edged defending South Dakota State and track champion Kalyb Brunssen by a razor-thin 0.026 of a second at the stripe. The victory marked Fajman’s first of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region and made him the fourth different winner in as many years at the Dave Riley Memorial. Palm Beach Gardens, Florida’s Joel Magee, a two-time South Dakota State champion and 2023 Park Jefferson track champ, ran up front early before slipping back in the final laps. Spencer, Iowa’s Brandon Nielsen, a five-time Hancock County Speedway track champion, mounted an impressive charge from 13th to finish third at [Read More]

Ryan Cashes In Late to Win Wild Late Model Main at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (July 18, 2025) – Friday night at Davenport Speedway belonged to the first-timers — at least for 2025. Three feature winners parked in victory lane for the first time this season on the banks of the Mississippi, led by Matt Ryan in the Sunoco IMCA Late Models. The headline event looked more like a game of musical chairs than a race to the checkers. Jesse Bodin paced the opening circuit before Joe Beal charged to the front and appeared strong, only to pull off after five laps. Bodin resumed the lead for a short stint, but was soon overtaken by Bryce Garnhart, who took control until mechanical issues ended his bid on lap 15. Bodin again inherited the top spot, but Matt Ryan had worked his way into the mix and made his move on lap 22. The Dubuque driver led the final four circuits to claim his first Late Model win of the season at the ¼-mile oval, and 25th career victory at Davenport. The win was also Ryan’s second [Read More]

Chelf Scores First-Ever Stock Car Win At Maquoketa

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 28, 2025) — Andrew Chelf of nearby Lost Nation has won plenty of Hobby Stock races at his home track, but Saturday night marked his first-ever triumph in the ultra-competitive Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars at Maquoketa Speedway. Chelf ran the bottom side to perfection, holding off a host of challengers for the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory. Veteran Jerry Miles worked the top groove and stayed in contention late but ultimately finished second behind the smooth-running Chelf. Gage Neal, back in his familiar no. 12N, closed the gap in the final laps and crossed the stripe in third. Nezworski Navigates to Second Late Model Win of Season

Andy started the 25-lap main from the eighth position. After being mired in fifth for 10 laps, Nezworski used a lower line than others and began to move forward. With five laps to go, Andy got under race leader Dustin Smith. Once Nezworski cleared Smith, he pulled away. Smith held on for second with C.J. Horn taking third in a race that saw no caution flags. Paris Pounces Early in Modified Main Shane Paris scored his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified victory at Davenport. Paris led all 20 laps of the main after starting in the third position. He now has three wins in the Razor Chassis North Central Region, each at a different Iowa facility. Tony VonDresky started sixth and drove to second by lap seven, but would advance no further. Mitch Way had an up-and-down race before finishing third. Heath Charges from 10th for First Davenport SportMod [Read More]
