Seven IMCA Stock Car drivers new to B & B All-Star eligible list

VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 4, 2023) – Another seven IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers have secured B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational starts or qualifying eligibility. Brandon Beckendorf and Mike Mullen earned guaranteed starting spots with rich wins at Arlington Raceway’s Sibley County Shootout and 141 Speedway’s King of the Creek, respectively. Brian Fitzgibbons and Steven Daffern were Summer Shootout winners at Barona Speedway. Austin Meiners paced the Hawkeye 50 show at Boone and Jake McBirnie topped Marshalltown’s After The Creek show. Travis Barker was best during the Dave Riley Memorial show at Park Jefferson Speedway. Kyle Pfeifer was a Wheatshocker Nationals winner at RPM Speedway and David Murray paced Lincoln County’s Stock Car Shootout. Fast Shafts All-Star eligible list adds 12

VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 4, 2023) – Add another dozen Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers to the eligible to qualify list for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Todd Stinehart ruled Salute to Veterans at Kossuth County Speedway and Cody Laney led the way in the Rage Chassis 40 at Fayette County Speedway. Zane DeVilbiss was first in the Fair special at Hancock County while Trey Duensing was the Gage County Fair winner at Beatrice Speedway. Summer Shootout checkers at Barona Speedway flew for Trevor Fitz and Eric Mass topped the .38 Special at Black Hills. Beckendorf shines at Sibley County Shootout

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 2, 2023) – The Sibley County IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Shootout at the Arlington Raceway saw a fantastic field of cars and 45 stellar drivers competing for some big paydays. The largest paid out was to Brandon Beckendorf from Danube as he won $9,185 for his driving abilities. He had a clean sweep for the night, winning his heat race and $135 as well as leading every lap of the 30-lap race to earn $135 per lap plus the $5,000 to win top prize. His drawing partner found the right Frisbee as she drew the no. 2 spot, putting him on the outside of the front row of the 24-car field. Young is fastest at Selinsgrove for second PASS win

(July 29, 2023) – Drew Young’s breakout season kicked up another notch Saturday night when the Beaver Springs driver took his second career victory in the River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series feature at Selinsgrove Speedway. Young drew the pole position, traded the lead with Doug Dodson and led the last half of the 20-lap race, followed throughout by Dodson, who finished 2.068 seconds behind. Friday night’s Big Diamond winner Zach Rhodes started and finished third, followed by Kenny Heffner and Austin Reed. Young had started on the pole and led the field into turn one on the opening lap, only to have Dodson use the high side to assume the lead coming off turn two. Dodson led nine laps before Young slipped past him on the inside and grabbed the lead for good. Stock Car win at Eagle is IMCA first for Steinbach

(July 29, 2023) – It was a pretty good week for Marty Steinbach, who became a grandfather for the second time on Thursday and then won his career first IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature Saturday evening at Eagle Raceway. With just three laps left, leader Matt Boucher slid high in turn two, allowing Steinbach to pass him on the low side. Nate Thompson followed Steinbach into second as Boucher fell to third. Richards also got by Boucher to take over second place the following circuit. Winning felt so good, Rhodes does it again

(July 28, 2023) – A week after his first career victory in the River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series, Zach Rhodes showed it was no fluke and collected win number two Friday night at Big Diamond Speedway in his first-ever event at the track. The McVeytown racer put his IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car out front from the get-go and held off a charging Kruz Kepner, who also won in last weekend’s racing at Path Valley, to win by .445 seconds in the 20-lap feature. Kepner had started seventh. Ken Duke came home third, followed by Erin Statler, who ran second in the early laps of the race, and Owen Dimm, who continues to post impressive finishes. John Walp, back with PASS after a run in 410 sprints, teamed up with friend and fellow driver Frank Rusnock and advanced from 19th starting position to 11th to win the W.C. Pearce, Foulger are IMCA winners at Antioch

By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (July 29, 2023) – Rookie ‘shoe Andrew Pearce raced to his third local Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature win Saturday at Antioch Speedway. Pearce charged into the lead following a complete restart. Troy Foulger was an early second runner ahead of Buddy Kniss. They ran that way until Trevor Fitz slipped past Kniss for third on lap 12. Pearce built a decent lead over Foulger by the time to checkered flag waved as Fitz settled for third ahead of Kniss and Jeffrey Faulkner. Foulger picked up his track-leading seventh IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event win in the Bowers Motorsports entry. Fred Ryland returned and set the pace early on. Double winner Looft avoids bad luck in Arlington’s turn three

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 29, 2023) – The number 3 was unlucky Saturday night at Arlington Raceway as there were three rollovers in turn three that resulted in considerable damage to as many cars. The first was in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock race on the first lap when Travis Manderfield’s drive shaft broke and sent him rolling off the track. He was ok, but out of the race. Then Blake Foesch had the misfortune of rolling after an axle tube broke after leading the first three laps and he, too, was out of the race. When the race got started again, Chad Volk took the lead for two laps but undefeated for the season Cory Probst moved forward each lap from his 10th place start and took over the top spot on the sixth lap. IMCA Late Model drivers chase Sunoco bonuses at Lee County, 34 Raceway

DONNELLSON, Iowa (Aug. 1, 2023) – IMCA Late Model drivers will have two opportunities to win bonuses from Sunoco Race Fuels this weekend. The division title sponsor gives $250 to feature winners Friday, Aug. 4 at Lee County Speedway and Saturday, Aug. 5 at 34 Raceway in West Burlington. Friday sees Late Models racing for $1,000 to win their Drive For 5 qualifier at Donnellson, where pit passes are $30 for adults, $20 for kids ages 7-13, $10 for kids ages 4-6 and $5 for three and under. Salute to Veterans show at Kossuth County draws 137 cars

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (July 27, 2023) – It was the eighth annual Hunting With Heroes Salute to Veterans night at Kossuth County Speedway on Thursday as the event just continues to break more records every year. An event-high 137 cars signed in the pit shack to compete for an increased purse but more importantly a hand-carved trophy and an opportunity to give a veteran a prize worth at least $300 with a top three finish. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature saw a veteran driver win what he said in the winner’s circle was the biggest victory in his racing career. Todd Stinehart took the top spot early and built a lead but the yellow flag came out lap number three and again three laps later. But after that, the feature went non-stop as emotional Stinehart was elated in victory lane with the biggest win of his 28-year career and a nice $3,500 first place check helped a little bit, too.
